It lives up to the minimum requirements, but not much else. It will run WoW, but the question is how well. The biggest issue is the Graphics card, its pretty low end, and your settings will suffer for it. 8gb ram will do, but 16 would be better. Processor is fine, should have no issues there. SSD is a little small, the game will eat up a good chunk of it, but, at least you have a SSD, wich is highly recommended.
If you are currently playing Dragonflight and are satisfied with the performance, i dont see the next expansion making much of a difference in how well the game will run on your system.
A minor upgrade, processor and graphics card are pretty much on par with the other one performance wise, and the graphics card slightly newer in terms of hardware generation. The RAM are a big upgrade though, not only are they double capacity, but they are also DDR5 wich is much faster than DDR4.
You will have more RAM and SSD storage, but overall its only a minor upgrade. Still perfectly fine for WoW on moderate settings.
If you really wanna go the next step, you gotta look at a 3060 or 4060 graphics card.
You can get WoW running quite comfortably on pretty much anything sold within the last five years or so. Any extra specs just give you the option to have more visual settings turned up.
A lowly fanless MacBook Air can handle most PvE with moderate settings (or turned down a bit for big group content), so I really wouldn’t worry if you’re going for any standalone PC. If you’re buying a new computer, buy what you can afford and justify for the long term; WoW will run.
I cant promise you no lag, even high end pc’s have lag and frame drops in WoW from time to time, and the lower your specs are, the more likely you are to encounter lag in certain intense situations, where a lot is happening on the screen at once. But with that said, i think you will get a overall good experience with either of these systems, the ladder being the better option in my oppinion. However, if you want a butter smooth experience, you need to aim a little higher spec wise.
The real question is what you looking to get out of the game. My rig is 12 years old and runs wow like a dream. If you looking for eye candy you need a super computer to run wow. If you looking for just the essentials you will be fine with a few graphic setting changes and turning off non essential services. There are loads of videos out there showing you how to optimise the game to get the max potential FPS without sacrificing too much. i.o.w looking like you playing a game from the 80’s to actual playing a graphic rich game.
