Will Moonkins ever get a normal interupt?

Like, seriously. So much solo content is designed around having a short cooldown interrupt of about 20 seconds. Looking at you Brawler’s Guild.

But then you get Moonkins with Solar Beam. Yes, Solar Beam can be amazing with the right set up. But it doesn’t change the fact that Moonkins have 1/2 to 1/3 of the interrupt potential on single target.

Mages have the option to choose to Blink where they are facing or where they are moving. I would love if Blizzard would give Moonkins the option to trade in Solar Beam for a regular interrupt.

Because I don’t want to get rid of Solar Beam because I recognise it’s uses. But I also recognise that designing solo content around regular interrupt cycles and then giving one class a much longer cooldown just doesn’t gel.

Yeah, I’d like one as a Mage too and mines only on a 24 second CD, you Boomys have it far worse.

You’re right, almost all solo content is based around having a melee-style interrupt (12-15 second CD), I dread to think what Torghast is gonna be like, I’m just praying that the bosses don’t have a 1 hit kill they cast more than once every 24 seconds.

I see three fairly decent solutions to the issue: -

  • Have solo encounter casts with cooldowns matching the class/specs CD.
  • Grant the option to trade the long cooldown for a short cooldown interrupt.
  • Add a second short cooldown interrupt that triggers a cooldown on both interrupts.

Just let me answer with a question : will warlock ever get an interrupt?

What d’ya thing that Felhunter is for?

to be a pet wich instantly get killed in pvp and will take 6 seconds to respawn in shadowlands (which you are never get out with all these chain interrupts).
Be happy you even have an cc and a shackle (overgrowth) which are in instant casts.

Shadowburn? Mortal Coil? Seduce?

This topic wasn’t even about PvP anyway.

-Shadowburn only destro and doesn’t interrupt bosses
-Mortal coil doesn’t work on bosses
-Seduce still pet bound and doesn’t work on bosses

The thing is, at the moment it feels like they don’t care about gameplay enhancing mechanics but only about their covenant abilities.
So i don’t believe there will be changes to this in near future for any of these problems

I meant Shadowfury, the AoE stun that’s instant cast. I got the name mixed up. Pretty sure Shadowfury is baseline for all specs last I checked.

‘doesn’t work on bosses’

A second ago you were complaining about PvP and instant cast CC, now you’re talking about raid bosses?

When it comes to Brawlers Guild, last I checked your pet is generally not in danger unless you’re using them to tank. I know I got up to Rank 5 in MoP on my Warlock with a Voidwalker tanking it.

They take highly reduced AoE damage and they likely won’t be getting hit directly so they probably won’t die.

Besides, don’t Affliction and Destruction have Grimoire of Sacrifice to kill their pet and their Command Demon ability is castable by the Warlock?

I started this topic because I’m currently pushing 4 masks (late comer to that party) and found some of the bosses and mobs do a lot of damage/sanity damage because they attack way more often than I can interrupt. I’ve long felt that Moonkins should have a standard interrupt after Skull Bash was no longer baseline.

But on the flip side, I can see the tactical potential in PvP and group content with Solar Beam so I wouldn’t want to lose it either.

Yeah im trying to do 4 masks with Aff lock and have the same problem.
I can use my Voidwalker to tank and have no interrupt (shadowfurry has a cast time or at least an animation/effect delay) or i use my Voidstalker and eat the whole damage.
Either way i fail because i run out of Sanity or because some heavy damage i can not avoid.
But Solar beam, mighty bash and/or typhoon are so nice to have.
I also heard they add Cyclon to balance too

Cyclone is a PvP talent so not available in Horrific Visions.

But it will be available in Shadowlands soon

This is the Druid section of the forums. Why are you talking about Warlocks :stuck_out_tongue:

As for the OP. I agree, they should just give us an option to replace it with a kick. Although, I think if they did that, it would be the go-to option 99% of the time.

Now thats a wise question.

Same goes for people referring to solo content, solo content should never exclude classes that mis a certain ability…

And then people complaining about PvP, well every class should have weaknesses in PvP… a smart player recognises those with others…

This is all about group and raid PvE content.

No, because Moonkins already have BR, stun, Stampeding Roar and strong offhealing. It would be unfair for mages, locks etc.

I think its time for PvE only spells…
I think in high end PvE content every class/spec should have an interupt
But i also agree this would unballance PvP…

So next step might be a selection of PvE spells…
Opposite to the PvP spells…

And the moment you select PvP, you loose your PvE spells of choice and get your PvP spells of choice…

I think this could solve quite a few ballance issues…

Boomy has so many ways to interrupt spell casting: Solar beam, Typhoon, Incap roar, Bash, Cyclone. To name a few

Its kinda why i ignored nazjatar emissaries

Wtf am i supposed to do when they heal every 16 secounds on my own? and forget team effort, people lack the 2 braincells to use their own interrupt T_T

Specially triggering when we’re 3-5 melees on it and failing interrupting the heal
