Will the forsaken and night elves get new capitols or get their old ones bacK

Eh so you want the forsaken and the scourge to share houses, and with the elves you mentioned you also want to make enemies share homes? Probably not even if they do get rid of the faction system we have now

some Night elves might be ok with that, but there’s a problem
 a massive one-
Tyrande.

More like the forsaken to be the rulers of the scourge.

And of the elves
 yeah
the same people who wrote them to become enemies, i’d like to see how they make this work - it’s darn sight easier than making new capitals out of nowhere, which face it - you won’t see unless some expansion takes you to some place that requires more elf lore.

I can think of something that would force all the Thalassian elves to share

The Sunwell - if the faction conflict goes to Quel’thalas and the sunwell is nearly destroyed again, i can see them enforcing a conflict free zone in Quel’thalas - and power share, rather than fight for one group to rule it all. Thalassians keep their allies’ armies away from quel’thalas

Face it, if the high and void elves are in it and say so, the alliance won’t attack Quel’thalas, same with the blood elves and san’layn - the horde won’t attack - ensures the fighting from the factions never gets there.

The two don’t have to be friends or like each other - in fact i exepct it to be quite the environment, where a war of ideals and principles wages between high /blood/void/san’layn elf - but love/fear of the sunwell preventing all from fighting

Outside Quel’thalas ofc, they are free to extend their greviances - and assassinations are known to occur too.

As for the night elves and nightborne, they aren't enemies directly, so tha'ts even easier
  • besides the horde and alliance conflict should be secondary to their pursuite of Elune, arcane and nature - and given their nature, while they may like their factions, i don’t see either condoning genocide of their kind. Usually it’s the horde side to provoke this sort of thing, but the nightborne don’t seem the type to do this to the kaldorei who they owe
it shouldn’t be hard to write an interesting story that results in a some sort of share. likely based on Orders, moreso than faction - but i can easily see that happening too.

We are so use to seeing races in opposite factions hate each other, but we have enough examples that this isn’t always the case
draenei and blood elves, and on an Order level we have night elf druids and tauren druids. If or rather when the nightborne gain druidsm from farodin and the val’sharah lot who they are friendly with, i can see nightborne and night elf druids get on quite well, just as i can easily see night elf highborne and mages get on well with nightborne ones, and ofc it seems we will have nightborne acolytes of elune, and i don’t think they will be fighting their high priestess. it’s a night elf thing
that their fascination supercedes nearly every love. Druids fixated on nature, preists on Elune, mages on the arcane - you look at each type, whether highborne, druid or priest they are sooo into their “thing” - only another night elf would understand and find a bond over it.

Ofc, I wouldn’t expect nightborne mage to be friendly to a night elf druid like he is to a night elf mage or vice versa
But i also expect that the dynamic could easily be different as not.

Blizzard can cook up any jazz they want, and it could be interesting jazz. All i know is that

  1. The players are very much interested in these guys getting new homes, and good ones - and it is in blizzards interest to do things that have overwhelmign support

  2. The game already has a plethora of assets each could use without creating more for a race to have hub you basically gateher venodrs at.

Best solution : Find the coolest race appropriate places you’ve done for each and stick em in it, write a cool and engaging story for it - problem solved.

Forsaken possible homes:

  1. Ice crown
  2. Naxxaramas
  3. Any flying Ziggarut
  4. Darkshore ruins
  5. theramore ruins
  6. Share with orcs in orgrimmar
  7. Share with the blood elves

Now which of these has a genuine WOW factor - if you wanted to boost this race? ICC ofc and best case scenario: They somehow gain Ice crown and control of the Ziggaruts

Night elf homes:

  1. Suramar
  2. Zin’Azshari /Nazjatar
  3. Nar’thalas ruins
  4. Eldre’thalas ruins
  5. Black Rook hold
  6. Duskwood / Hinterlands
  7. Share with the Gilneans in Stormwind

Which of these has the biggest WOW factor? Suramar ofc and Best case scenario - Suramar share with nightborne or a Pristine zin’azshari once Azshara is defeated (assuming they have designed a pristine version of the ruins) otheriwse it’s too much work to repair.

The point is blizzard just don’t build new cities for the sake of making a race not homeless, new cities if they are built usually play a large role in an expansion and fit a race specifically - night elves already have Suramar filling that role and potentially Zin’Azshari when Nazjatar comes round - that is 2 opportunities to get a night elf themed city - if they don’t get either - expect homelessness

Forsaken have Ice crown and the Ziggaruts - unless an undead expansion
i.e. WotLK 2.0 comes along, they already did theirs in 3.0 - they only need use those assets. Ice crown was fantastically done, it has a purpsoe, a raid zone as well, it can double up as new home.

bolvar would just look at the forsaken and put a sign at the front door that says “no solicitors”

Just came today to Darnassus to get a coin from Elder. Damn, Darnassus was such a beautiful city.
Hate Blizzard for what you have done. Why you always destroy something beautiful? There are so many not beautiful things in game that can be destroyed instead!

Why you even complain if they give you the opportunity to visit it lol. I have to say that even as a Night Elf fan I had more connection to Undercity.

I think Undercity mostly caved in when Sylvanas tried to bring the throne room down on the Alliance at the start of the Alliance. I don’t want those two places to become capitals again and for them to just have been rebuilt, but I’d like to see them in their post-destroyed states.

Maybe it could be in instances or something, you get to travel through the parts of Teldrassil which were on soil rather than wood and see how nature has been left devastated and Darnassus mostly burnt down aside from a few bridges and the Temple of Elune.

It would be very cool to be able to go into Undercity through the Sewer Entrance and go through the remaining few halls which haven’t been caved in as well just to see what became of the city.

Other than that I think it’s high time that some other races of the Horde and Alliance got their own capitals so I think they should get them but incorporate Forsaken and Night Elf elements. Possibly the Cataclysm races seen as the Goblins share bonds with the Forsaken and the Worgen share bonds with the Night Elves?

I have a sneaking suspicion that we will have a complete Azeroth revamp before too long. Don’t ask me why just a feeling.

As much as i like to see both the Forsaken as well as the Night Elves get a new home
Wether that be by reclaiming & rebuilding The Undercity and Darnassus or just a new capital for both of them, that should’nt matter.

But knowing Blizzard, they are only focussed on the destruction of Azeroth.
I mean, think about it: Deathwing damaged Stormwind & Orgrimmar, left a huge crack throughout The Barrens
And that’s just a part of wat Deathwing did.

Then Garrosh came to power, became arrogant and more warmongering then he was before and treated his own allies like sh*t.
Baine did’nt like it, neither did Vol’jin.

And then we’ve got the latest issue: Sylvanas going on a rampage. Burning down Darnassus, killing lots of innocents in the process, then decided to plague her own capital by using blight
Left Saurfang behind, which, again, Baine did’nt like and i feel like Baine is leaving the Horde.

Maybe this sounds kinda stupid and noobish and i’m not really sure if they’d ever implement it knowing Blizzard but i would’nt be surprised either if sometime, there’d be a 3th faction where Saurfang and/or Baine lead that faction.

tbh, i miss Brill and northern tirisfal glades, more than UC

I still miss the old Brill tavern, before the Cataclysm revamp.

Dazar’alor and Boralus are the first major, full-sized, non-rehashed capitals since Wrath (Shrine and Warspear are small capitals, the latter using assets from the Garrison and Legion Dalaran is a rehash/rextexture of the old one) and they only exist for the raid and dungeon set in them.

I highly doubt Blizzard will ever bother to give the Night Elves and Forsaken a home again. For the same reasons they’ll never update the Exodar or Silvermoon. Too much effort for something that essentially boils down to world building. Which Blizzard no longer value.

From a design perspective it’s easier to “destroy” existing assets than create entirely new ones. Which is why the world keeps getting butchered.

Boralus perhaps, but Dazar’alor was mainly designed as a raid from the start.
Since Blizz had a Brain fart, and forgot that horde might need a City hub also.
