Will upgrading give me all the tender's coins that I want?

Hey guys,

I figured I’d buy the War Within, and since I think this month’s Trading Post has awesome items, it’d be great to have more coins. The epic edition of War Within claims to grant 1000 coins.

HOWEVER, the following is also written: “Upgrading to the Heroic or Epic edition will not re-grand in-game items. or Trader’s Tender, previously unlocked on your regional account at a maximum of 1000 tender from Epic. WoW subscription or Game Time required. Visit shop.battle.net for more information.”

And yes it’s actually written that weirdly with dots in awkward places. I’m really not sure how to interpret this.

I know I can get a total of 1500 coins this month (I already have 500, and can earn another 1000).

Will getting the expansion just mean I get 1000 coins and instantly fill this month’s bar, as in, I can’t farm anymore after that. Or is it 1000 coins on top of the 1500?

And even if I’d get the 1000 on top of the 1500, is there actually a risk I’m not getting it because I’ve gotten it from some subscription moment or something?

Sorry if this was a little confusing, it’s probably because I’m confused and not very eager to spend 90 euros without knowing that I actually get all the rewards.

Really grateful for y’all’s help.

(Also I did check shop.battle.net for “more information” and didn’t find anything that cleared this up for me).

The three editions come with 500, 750, and 1000 Tender. The fine print says that if, for example, you got 500 from buying the basic edition and then upgrade to the Epic edition, you won’t additionally get the full 1000 Tender that comes with the Epic edition, but only 500 extra, for a total of 1000 Tender that is included with the Epic edition.

It doesn’t affect what you earn in the game. It’s an additional bonus for buying TWW.

As Life said above me, the bonus tender you may get from other sources like pre-order TWIW bonus, bundles or elsewhere is an extra and will not count against your cap.

You can get max 1000 bonus Tendies if you upgrade to Epic TWIW (once per account). If you upgrade first to Base for 500, then later to Heroic 750 or Epic 1000 you will only get the difference up to that capped amount.

Visually:

Nothing → Base = +500
Nothing → Heroic = +750
Nothing → Epic = +1000
Base → Heroic = +250 for a total of 750.
Base → Epic = +500 for a total of 1000.
Heroic → Epic = +250 for a total of 1000.

You get 500 Tendies each month for an account in good standing and can earn another 500 for a monthly 1000 cap. Unless stated otherwise e.g. special events.

Thank you both so much for taking the time to explain this so thoroughly to me. Now I feel that I understand!

This makes me wonder; Does upgrading 2nd accounts (or third etc) give more tenders, or does it stay on the original earned?

The bar is filled with travelers points, not traders tender
Every 200 traveler points up until 1000 travelers points to fill the bar, you get 100 traders tender for a maximum of 500
The expansions reward traders tender, which you can spend at the travelers post, but it will NOT fill your bar, because coins do not fill the bar

As the shop page states:

Trader’s Tender is granted only once per Battle.net® account and region upon first purchase of each edition, at a maximum of 1000 Tender from Epic

So buying additional pre-orders on the same BNET account will not grant you extra Tendies.
