Will World of Warcraft : Shadowlands let us finally disable shadows in graphical settings?

As the next expansion will mainly focus around the Shadowlands it’s indeed the PERFECT opportunity to include a disable/near-disable shadows in the graphic settings.

Erm… wot? why? This feature has nothing to do with Shadowlands. Also, why would you want to disable shadows? Though I’m pretty sure there’s probably an addon for that… Fair enough that you may have some legitimate reason to want to disable them but honestly? I don’t know what that reason could possibly be… Either way this is irrelevant to the expansion in question so I’d say… um… no?

The link is pretty obvious.
Btw no addons for that, and the command /console shadowlod 0 doesn’t work.
Shadows provoque significant fps drops on some systems. Minimal shadows are disgusting when you play in low qual. Maximal shadows are very laggy.
Low shadows are ugly to watch, flicker sometimes when moving the camera, just better disable it. My system is very fine, it ran 8.2 fine, but with 8.3 the game is now laggy and shadows are part of it.

If your system cannot handle medium shadows, it is not fine.

What link? Also, I agree with Kiyuki

Some people just don’t like playing with them, personally they distract the hell out of me since I play all my other games with them disabled.

Either way more options are always good

i think it may be time to upgrade your pentium 4. even my old laptop from 2014 can run the game with shadows.

Should we have it?
Sure, why not. I’m even surprised we don’t have that option. Most games do have it.

What if you disable shadows and you can’t enter Shadowlands?

Maybe that’s the ‘I win’ button.

Magni: Hero, we must go to shadowlands to heal…
Disable shadows
Magni: You did it lad!
