Will WoW TCG get revived?

Hi, WoW Community!

I want to open a discussion about the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game.

It was an awesome game with cool mechanics and amazing arts. I personally think it was a mistake to cancel it, because of the TCG hype nowadays. Games like Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic The Gathering are performing great on the market and profit, while the collectors and players are happy and satisfied.

I would like to collect and play WoW TCG once again and I doubt I’m the only one craving for new amazing cards.

What do you guys think?

Best Regards,
Bleakh

As an owner of a swift spectral tiger and a magic rooster: how about NO?

You forgot about the Pokemon Cards craze that went viral more than any game did at that time

True that. Last years Pokemon TCG is exploding. There are Pokemon opening channels on YouTube with 600k subs.

The OP is talking about brining back the card game to, it could be weird, play and collect the card game. No one in this topic has shown any interest in the TGC mounts you own.

HOW ABOUT YES

Probably not worth it, the people who would want it are a small niche and probably wouldn’t be worth the effort to make it return.

It would probably be successful! The TCG interest has never gone away. Just look at their success with “in game shop”!

Imho, there is not much point bringing TCG back, now that the Blizz store exists…trading cards of this type could technically be considered a form of loot box gambling, in some jurisdictions, which further complicates matters…also TCG rewards are now occasionally available via the Black Market AH

The TCGs are stronger than ever now and there are hundred of thousands of TCG collectors/players. It will be a huge business. At least, it’s what I think.

I see more virtual TCGs than people playing with real cards itsell, Hearthstone is a big TCG, Legends of Runeterra…

If I understand you right about the gambling, no, It wouldn’t be considered as one, since there are Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic The Gathering, Pokemon TCG, Flesh and Blood TCG and a lot more operating on the same principles.

some of my friends have started playing some new cool yugiohgame on steam where it looks (from what they describe) as hearthstone (where u earn good cards by playing lots of games/grinding- but can also buy them with money) and theyre all addicted to it.

Well, check the Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon TCG and Magic the gathering communities, they perform outstanding with the real cards. But you are right about the virtuals, since they all started a virtual game but they are giving you in-game the decks you bought in real life. This is supercool and just hypes the people to buy.

True…however it’s still a grey area. The one real difference between TCG and digital Loot Boxes is the physical cards to trade, but given that some jurisdictions have moved against digital Loot Boxes, it rides the legal raggedy edge…which is probably why Blizz went with the store and dropped the WoW TCG

We need to kill Fifa lootboxes and overwatch ones too.

Why would Blizzard bring back the TCG when they have Hearthstone? Also some of the art of the TCG cards could be considered a bit risque by todays standards. One of the Azshara cards immediately comes to mind.

I would love that very much, all it would do is to just lower the astronomical prices on the market in-game and irl too.

Most of the people got their mount for a few millions at most. Today the epic tiger goes for around 160 million. If TCG gets revived all it would do is to lower the prices a little. We are not going to see the Swift Spectral Tiger under 5 million anyway. So it’s not like you take away people’s achievement who bought it before (probably cheaper too).

So for the people who say “no”, don’t worry, this doesn’t mean they will put it on the store for 20$.

This would just give the players a CHANCE again to obtain it. Just a slight chance, nothing more.
Because currently it is nearly impossible.

Having these items provide no achievements. It’s just a matter of how much money you spent on a few pixels. Surely they should add them back.

I’m in if old TCG pets and mounts are not revived, but rather new ones added so the old rare ones stay rare.
