can anyone help!
Logged onto wow classic today, moved a character over to tbc realm and as soon as i did this i got a message pop up from windows saying, wow has caused windows to go into basic color theme. Also when i alt tab sometime the wow screen goes completely haywire never has this problem till today. I have changed back to dx11 so windows does not go into basic color scheme but logging into wow freezes the pc for 5-10 sec.

I have the same problem with the color theme
When Windohs 7 changes the theme to basic, it is because your computer is running low on graphical memory.
Why your system is running low on graphical memory is a question I cannot answer tho.
Keep in mind that graphical memory on some low-end systems, is shared with system memory, especially notebooks.
Exactly the same problem, got nothing to do with low on gpu power
I never said anything about GPU power. I said graphics memory. Which on notebooks is shared with system memory. Please don’t put words into my mouth, its rude.
Like i said nothing about GPU memory, ignore this guy he doesnt know what hes talking about.
How to solve this:
1.Boot up WoW classic TBC (thats what i have)
2. At the character screen go to Menu --> System
3. Go to Advanced
4. Under Graphics API, change it from Direct 12 to Direct 11
This worked for me, i hope it works for you too, wanna know more about my settings to check em against yours, message me or @ me

And the reason it doesn’t happen under DirectX11, but happens under DirectX12 is because…
Oh right… DirectX12 uses more GPU memory than 11…
But I guess I don’t know anything.
Settle down son, i solved this, now run along.
