Disgraceful family. I hope they will all perish.

It seems history is not kind to them. So that may happen

Unless there are some scions of the family left in Que’thalas then I don’t see much of the future for the Windrunners.

One is undead, second is a void spawn. The last uncorrupted sister is a die hard anti-Blood Elf guerrila fighter. And just like the first sister she involved herself with a Human. A bond that resulted in creation of half-blood hybrids.

Vereesa has already outlived her husband. Might take a few decates to even a century to outlive her sons. And when she does and lives long enough away from her homeland. She might come around.

Can you judge Vereesa for hating the Horde? Technically not all of her people are horde now.

There are some like the Void elves and Exiled High elves who still ally with the Alliance

While some like the Kirin tor elves are neutral.

This pretty much explained everything

And after her sister’s disappearance she was assumed dead, so increased the hate.

Her Blood elf cousin tried to steal and murder her Children. Again increased the hate.

A blood elf was the one who handed over the bomb to Garrosh which resulted in the bombing of theramore, death of her husband (she almost died too). Thus increasing the hate.

Zendarin Windrunner wasn’t even loyal to Quel’thalas. He was overabitious fool who threw his lot with Sintharia and got burnt for it. Even Vereesa herself admitted that typical Blood Elves weren’t that evil as he was.

Although he gave other point of view that Elves considered mating with a Human to be similar with doing with an animal such as pig. This gives an idea that Windrunner sisters and any Elf that jump into Human embrace has acceptance and social issues.

In the very book Night of the Dragon, Vereesa clearly stated that she chosed to be with Rhonin because he of all beings showed her true warmth. Which means that Elvenkind on it’s own must be rather stiff and stoic population. And some gals have problem with not having their feelings propely accepted by Elven males who oftentimes are even prettier than Females.

Alleria too went to Turalyon in order to have a shoulder she could sob on after Lirath’s death. Apparently even grief is something that Elves are supposed to experience with dignity. And she couldn’t do it.

Windrunners have found themselves on the side of the history that is outside of Quel’thalas pages I am afraid. Their home is ruin and not a sould from there to hear. Lor’themar Theron changed the place into giant Sylvanas Memorial.

Windrunner Spire is a giant gravestone now. Windrunners have gone with the Wind away from Quel’thalas. Never to return.

My roleplaying character is from Suncrown Village, so her village is in ruins too.

So when she got exiled with the other High elves she didn’t really care. Her family is dead and her home is in ruins. Later on she became a void elf but that’s a long story

Zendarin’s extreme viewpoint was pretty much unique to him, and he was, as you said, a terrible, terrible person. While many elves did look down on humans and those who married them, it wasn’t remotely to that degree.

I mean, Kael’Thalas actively tried to court Jaina Proudmoore, and never really got over the fact she chose Arthas over him.

Kael’thas was also considered to be freak among his people. His desire to live among other races in distant land really didn’t appeal to the Elves living in Quel’thalas.

Anasterian himself was worried about his son’s principles.

As for the Human-Elf marriages we know they were not often. Until second war Thalassians were barely seems outside their kingdom with exception of Dalaran.

Half Elves were usualy treayed with disdain and disgust. Lor’themar himself looked down on Kalecgos when he was in his half elven form in Sunwell Trilogy’s third part Ghostlands. Claiming that half blood Has no right to demand anything from him.

He and Halduron greatly opposed the idea of training Humans in the arts of being Rangers but Sylvanad overruled them on the matter when she took Nathanos under her tutelage.

To say that Lor’themar despised Nathanos in life and did do with Passion in latter’s death is a mild one. Lor’themar Has always Bern among the conservative establishment in Quel’thalas. Always by his King and always defending his land.

When Sylvanas was flexing in Stormwind and singing Alleria statue plaque, Theron remained behind in the Kingdom.

When Kael’thas returned to his shattered kingdom he was greeted with hidden resentment. And when he took an army and left it distanced him from his people even more. To them he always was a wayward Prince. And that is why his death didn’t have that much inpact on the Blood Elves.

Lor’themar embodies every aspect of a Thalassian Elf dedicated to his or her Homeland. He has every feature that Anasterian wanted for Kael’thas to have.

All the northern elven villages of the Ghostlands are reclaimed at the end of the Blood Elves’ questing experience there in TBC already. Now they might still be in ruins (depending if the Blood Elves wanted to waste resources rebuilding them, but they might have not enough population to move them there, or the Ghostlands are still dangerous so nobody really wants to live there), but the Scourge are not occupying them anymore. The Scourge that we see in the comic “Three sisters” likely come from the Dead Scar, or Deatholme, but those are other problems. The northern village themselves are reclaimed and under Sin’dorei control from Tranquillien, and the Windrunner sisters later finally clean Windrunner Spire from Scourge and cultists too.

Her family might be dead but her home is not in ruin, because Quel’thalas is still alive as a Kingdom and occupied by fellow (blood) elves. This is like saying (just an extreme example of course), the city of Manchester in England gets destroyed by a natural cataclysm so all citizens of that city who survived feel the need to move away from England and join another nation because Manchester doesn’t exist anymore.

It doesn’t make sense, most people would just move to London or another major city to keep living their lives in their nation even if their hometown doesn’t exist anymore.

It’s a long complicated situation

The reason why Helves and Void elves refused to return is because their homeland fights for something they don’t believe in. (The Horde, politics, etc)

Like for example: I have a Iraqi friend who lives in Europe. She told me she Loves her home with all her heart, but she would never think about returning until the political situation over there becomes good and they start to have good leaders. Does she love her home? Yes. Will she live in it? No.

That’s basically every High elf and Void elf feels. They try to find a new home because their ancestral homeland follows a belief and politics they don’t agree with. And it’s safer for them to live outside of their ancestral home.

Especially with the “brainwashing” stuff that happened in Silvermoon when two blood elves protested against the Horde

Well this is a more relatable example. Still, by choosing not to live in her homeland, she isn’t helping them at all. So a person must choose between his/her own safety and his/her own nation.

It’s the High Elves and Void Elves who chose not to follow the government of Quel’thalas by their own moral choices, nobody was persecuting them before they violated the law. They could have been imprisoned or killed but the Blood Elves were merciful only to exile them.

Dire times need pragmatic measures…remember the Blood Elves were just recovering from a huge zombie invasion. A similar thing would happen on our Earth too, if 90% of the population die, all nations would be dissolved and an authoritarian government would be formed in order to keep people safe -and in check-. Survival always has priority over morals for the human race.

Also Anduin used mindcontrol on his own soldiers in order to run away from them in Pandaria, actually. Maybe Blizzard might justify him by saying they were mindcontrolled by the Light (yeah, right…) but still mindcontrol it is. See, if you are a priest, it’s very easy to use that ability to get what you want, actually :stuck_out_tongue:

Undead elves are soo cool. The closest I can do is a Belf DK. But it’s not the same without red eyes

It has been in popular demand since Warcraft 3 ! I just want Red eyes instead of these boring blue ones, but the purple ones that are coming is going to be on ALL my blood elves. The purple ones you spoke into existence hehe

Are they really coming? Pretty sure purple eyes are on for Void Elves only, right?

They are coming for blood elves too !!

Its in the beta for both BELF / VELF

Yeah it’s for both races. Not just Velf
