Alright.
For the last couple of months, me and the fellas from peakofserenity and others have tried our best to work with what we got, and give as much feedback as we could. Before today, the end-gear profile for windwalker simmed 214k. With every optimal enchant, every optimal talent to the best of our knowledge, every optimal trinket, and the best APL we could produce with all of the above. This 214k made windwalker the lowest simming spec for at least two months in a row, with a 6k difference to the next lowest spec, shadow priest. That’s a difference of about 2.8% to the second place, a 10% difference with the average, and a 15% difference to the top simming spec. This unfortunate state has been very noticeable during early progress as well, despite not having the end-game gear that these sims are based on yet. Picking random logs as anecdotal evidence, we have windwalker parsing purple/orange and getting equaled or beaten by players parsing blue or even green.
I can’t say it enough: we have been ringing this bell for several weeks in every way we have available. We’ve provided these same numbers many times over on the ptr forum posts. Even though it’s only week 2, we’re already seeing a massive decline in the windwalker population from people losing faith, getting benched, or asked to reroll.
All of this is to say: it is an unimaginable, soulcrushing disappointment to finally see some class tuning and then to have windwalker not even mentioned. We’ve been reassuring ourselves that, when the rwf is over, we’ll finally get some proper tuning. We were already joking around that “yes of course we’ll be buffed, but will it be enough?” After all, in order to be merely average, we’d need an aura buff large enough to result in approx 10% sim dps.
But we got nothing.
This is a genuine question, Blizzard: do you remember that this specialization exists? Do you remember that we can’t swap to another, stronger spec? Do you remember that, besides abhorrent tuning, we’re also dealing with terrible gameplay issues like position-locking FLS, poorly tuned talents, disjointed visual design, and I can keep going.
I just want some answers, please. What’s the plan. What’s happening.
