Wintergrasp attack

Does anyone have strat to win this bg in attaking side?

I swear this BG has like 90% change of winning if you spawn on defense.

Attack needs basically all 4 bases to get enough vehicles. And while you attack you need to keep all the bases or you lose vehicle slots. Defense has more vehicle slots by default and also cannons.

Also this isn’t really related but they have completely ruined Ashran and instead of all the cool buffs and items, all you do is teamfight untill reinforcements end. :frowning:

I’m not sure on a winning strat, but I find this BG incredibly annoying. The turnover of players is insane, people are AFKing out by the dozen the moment they realize they’re on the attacking side… It literally always starts as a 20v40 at sunken because so many people are AFKing out.

ppl afking and stubbornly staying until the end
so they can leech honor from loss(same as rated bg)

i think the real pvpers leave once sunken fight is lost

Thats is how its going. People don’t care, they just login, que and search for honor leech all the time.
Almost the same going for Ashran - people do flowers or just AFK and waiting for a free win. In 90% cases i just quit Ashran coz of this.

and they doing it in rated too is disgusting
glad i chose to quit and not bother with it

Mostly yes, i’m slightly tired coz of this too. People don’t check corpses after death, don’t want to def nodes, tunel vision only target caller targets - no CCs, no kicks for important casts, don’t use personal cd-s if needed, no purges, zero dispels and so on - just nothing outsides that they are calling for do. Thats actually insane, peoples like a bots. Its not a raid where RL calling what u need to do , its an RBG. U need to use 1 iq, u know. I can’t do all the thing as TC. 50% focus my target, 50% backpedal, idk.

The only way to win a offensive in Wintergrasp is by ensuring that you control all 4 workshops and keep your 3 towers intact, you don’t need 20 people assisting the vehicles in destroying one gate, but then I’m gonna get a big load of rants towards me saying that I have no clue what on earth i’m talking about but I guess I’ll just repeat it once again ;

You need a dedicate team that roams around the map to double check that nobody from the opposite team is damaging the towers, that requires at least 6 to 10 players. Then you need defenders per workshop, which also requires at least 2 people defending, assisted by a patrolling team of 2 catapults, yes you read it, catapults, they are mobile, faster, and deadly vs enemy players and demolishers. Then the rest assuming you got at least 14 demolishers/siege engines attacking with a considerable support force of players.

There is also 2 reasons why you want to keep your towers up ;
1# each tower grants a damage increase of every vehicle.
2# if they are destroyed, not only you lose the firepower from your siege, but also the timer gets deducted granting the defender less time to achieve victory.

Hope this help, and if you don’t think it’s a good plan, then keep loosing.

Just pay attention and don’t try to brute force and play against the mechanics, because they are tuned so high that it’s all do-or-die. You don’t destroy cannons on walls? They kill vehicles in several hits, you lose. You want to destroy enemy vehicles? There’s RP-GG (the rockets near every workshop) that hits them for 35% max HP every time, etc etc. You have to do the things as intended, or be inconsequential.

I’d also add a general tip, don’t attack the middle section, attack either top left or top right side, because:

  • once you get in, you can block vehicle production on that side by camping the workshop,
  • when you look at the cannon placement, there’s more fire coverage on the middle walls than top ones (3 cannons versus 4, also less fire on your way there from middle towers),
  • if you go mid, enemy vehicles will appear right on top of you when built in the castle, giving them much faster reaction time, and breaking the first wall doesn’t give you any further advantage.

Imagine just going from Broken Temple and hitting top wall, then breaking in: defenders respawn on the other side and you are camping the workshop, so if they want vehicles to defend, they have to drive around the entire castle.

People who go to Broken at start are the reason why we never win attack tbh.

I still have quest [Tremblade Must Die] .

8 months in my quest log.

But there is the first problem…the RP-GG are only on the southeast and southwest Workshops, not at sunken and broken. This is something they should change. The tanks are way too strong to kill them without rockets at all if they appear in a higher amount.
And personally, i liked the old RP-GGs more, yes they were not that easy to handle,but they had splashdamage instead of single target damage. so if the enemy stood together with all tanks you could damage them all at once.

Another thing i think that would help, if they would implement the bombs from Isle of Conquest into Wintergrasp so you can at least damage the walls even if you dont have a tank instead of standing around.

the walls on WG have too much hp too. and the cannons respawn.

ashran i sorta agree its over too fast too. and the mage in the tower gives 50 kills apparently, so nearly no chance to kill last boss by the time you’ve actually capped all the flags. reinforcements need to be extended more.

and who attacks from sunken doesnt shoot the wall with demolishers but the players

how can this be possible

I did infact lose a WG on defence today.
Trust me, if there is a way to lose…the alliance will find out how -.-

Not really , I leave it If I’m attacking side. Waste of time. Not even worth a try.
