didnt know you could take all three next patch nice to know.

i would only change the passive damage too VT damage instead 20% is insane increase

would probably go without mental decay too since its only working on ST.

Wow, im impressed. Maybe its finally possible to have a normal discussion about talents.

Im only giving my feedback. Nothing about this is right or wrong. Im only talking about Dungeons.

Cthuun feels horrible. Its the worst talent we have in our tree. With the insanity lowered, you do not want this rng garbage. Its not that its bad dps wise, it probably works very good on high tyr weeks, i just like the other talents a lot more. Also, like on live, sometimes it procs way too late.

I would also not take void torrent and Insidious Ire, because you can have some very amazing synergy going to left side.

You need to take Mindbender anyway with the new set, so i guess Inescapable Torment is out of discussion. Its a must have.

Maddening Touch and both Spirit talents are also a must have because of insanity regen. Im not sure how much are those “have a chance to” btw. But it feels super good with screams of the void, if you press every 2-3 GCDs a DP. You gonna create an army of spirits which i really missed.

Also Mindspike is a lot better than mindflay because of the Surge of Insanity. To get the max out of this talent you either need to channel the powered up Mindflay until the end OR take Mindspike, which is only a cast. Channeling in a swirlyception world does not feel good, thats why i would also avoid taking voidtorrent.

The last skillpoint is hard to say…i really like the new deathspeaker. Will have some good synergy with the new set and you have quite a lot more instant casts, which you definitely want to have. The new SW:D is also good because of insanity regen. Or you take nzoth, which does also a good amount of passive damage.

This was my skilltree during some 15-20 tests on the ptr and i had tons of fun. I really did not miss Mindsear.

still think ST will major role ove the 10% would not make a big deal i think DP and spirits will be good

I’m pretty new to Shadow Priest, still playing aorund with my spec on live. So no clue yet what is good and what is not.
But firts thing I noticed was 3 Idols that can be reached from 1 node in T3. So I figured lets give that a shot. I doubt they will let that stay in though.
If you can pick up 3 Idols from 1 node and all Idols are supposed to be very good, then that seems the way to go.
But if some Idols suck, that is a whole other thing then.

Been tinkering again. Still paying with the idea of triple Idols and went for Mindspike. Added the maddening touch as suggested:

Might all change with the 4 set bonus from the new set:
(4) Set Bonus: Every 400 Insanity spent summons Shadowfiend/Mindbender for 5 seconds.
If Mindbender is much better then Shadow Fiend ofcourse.

even tho triple idol looks cool, it just sounds the most troll thing and is doing too many things at the same time lol

prolly gonna be the best thing

Would probably roll this build- with mind spike. now if they could just remove the cast timer on Dark Ascension.

What I am also noticing so far is:

  • the first 8 points have all been the same, no matter who made the build
  • below those 8 everyone takes: Shadow Crash, Whispering Shadows, either Dark Ascension or Void Eruption, Shadowy Insight, Ancient Madness

From there on it differs some. But if everyone, in builds posted here and in other topics, takes those all the time, maybe some changes should be made to make some things baseline. And then add new talents so there will be more diversity.

Even with the lower differing things almost all still take: Maddening Touch and Mind Devourer, going on into Auspicious Spirits.
Again not much diversity.

If the aim with these talent trees is to create diversity in how people want to play. Then I don’t feel this talent tree set-up is doing that.
And by diversity I don’t mean things like, play A for single target, play B for cleave, play C for large groups.
That is not diversity in how you want to play your Shadow Priest. That is a ‘how to’ guide for encounters.

Not saying I have a solution. Just giving my thoughts.

I kind of wish Deathspeaker talent was implanted to the left talent treat They could Bake it in to the Death and Madness make that passive they should make soo all priests have Shadow word death as a base line instead Its an Iconic ability such as paladins hammer of wrath.

Also wish they made Mental Decay in to a Passive instead of a talent also wish they made shadow crash dot everything in combat with you with VT would been a quality of life buff.

Also wonder why pvp shadow feels so much better than PVE. I did PVP open world legit Instant cast Dark Ascension feels so much better also wished Void Volley was implanted in to PVE talent three legit its so fun to have a 2nd fear that you control.

These are my ideas for a better priest quality of life.

Make it these changes I think shadow would be lit I had tons of fun playing void volley in open world it feels pvp shadow gets the better build.

They have the devs get too it.

This will probably be the final build all due to Spirits deals more damage the longer DP stays up

I still hate personally that blizzard force shadow crash on us like we want it when we don’t and it miss half the time.
