OK this just is not funny… So I eventually find the lady that is happy to teleport me at Level 100 to witness the teleportation of Dalaran… Only the process simply drops me to my death and I land on rocks in Deadwind Pass. I try an age to find my body and eventually gave up.
Back to graveyard and I accepted to be made real and I went back the portal lady. This time I was OK. But by now my tea is cold. So I went and had that. Came back and I’d been logged out.
So I log back in and you guessed it… I am instantly dropped from high and plummet do my death in Deadwind Pass with my body stuck somewhere on the surrounding hills impossible to find.
It was bad enough that the quest location changed cus they created the portal room and they moved the character. But this is just lazy game design. Do these guys even test stuff when they move things around.
I’m not having much luck with the legion opener given that the starting mission bugged out on me last time and I was stranded standing with Sylvanas and forced to abandon the quest and lose the weapon.
And when folk say that these guys fix bugs well since day one I reported a bug with a mob half stuck in steps as you turn left from the Blood Elf starter area. And guess what… after like decade its still there. Stuck. Maybe just a little thing but the game gets bugs reported and they just never get fixed. Like the signposts in Arathi that are like twenty feet in the air. Makes the game look and feel shoddy.
Anyway… I’ll go have another go at seeing this Dalaran get moved. Looks like it went without me.
So I teleport back to Org and have to spend 125 gold on repairs and can’t carry on for 10 minutes and so I went back to the teleport lady and requested the teleport and guess where I am now STUCK ON HILLTOP DEAD IN DEADWIND PASS . This is starting to get a bit tiresome. So I have to res again and pay 125 gold and risk it happening again. Trouble is I can’t continue the story its bonkers cus its instanced.
As it seems you’re having a bit of an issue there I suggest you skip the legion introduction, since you have a level 120 I figure you have already done it. You should be able to skip by talking to an npc near the quest giver in the capitals.
I did it at the 4th attempt. The funny thing was that at the spot where I fell there were dozens of bones from other players that had given up I presume. I just felt I should do it as its fundamental to the new location of Dalaran.
Glad it worked out in the end! Hopefully Blizz sees to it that new players won’t have to suffer the same fate you did, they can’t skip after all. (Wouldn’t hold my breath tho, they seem pretty okay with letting old content devolve into something even a small company would be ashamed of. Thinking of healing artifact scenarios for example, where npcs have so little hp that they keep getting oneshotted.)
Can’t recall that I have. What am I missing? Now you made me feel like the guy who’s not in on the joke and is calling the ambulance on a prank.
I have no doubt Isdy got to 120 from archaeology and pet battles, or killing two million boars, in Eastern Kingdoms or something, and went through Draenor at ilevel 6.
I basically walked out of the starter area and didn’t pick up one quest and that included any pet battles etc from the tamers. I slogged it out to 20 just killing stuff and then did archaeology and pet battles[ not tamers ]. I spent so much time from 110 to 120 at both Winterspring and Blasted Lands Pet Battling cus the other challenge was not to leave Eastern Kingdoms or Kalimdor. [ Level 23s ]
By the way I did have a problem post 90 which has somehow vanished now and that is archaeology did not reward XP after 90 on Eastern or Kalimdor. But it does now. Odd that.
Also I didn’t train or use a mount at any time. And the gear I have on is all I wore.
I’ve since done it again albeit I varied the challenge a bit cus of scaling. You need to get to 71 by questing cus killing mobs with item level 6 gear is a problem. Not cus of the difficulty, but for the time it takes. After 71 it repeats as before. Basically you can one shot again buck naked after 71.
I’ll tell you about the Crystal Forest Pet Battle secret one of these days. But thats the Northrend Challenge.
So many challenges in this game. The trick is to read what the game asks you to do and then do the opposite. Who needs it easy when hard is more fun.
I just always fly there, to the Dalaran over Deadwind pass. I bever had any issues that way. Made this is worth trying. Hirde can get near by zeppelin from Orgrimmar and Alliance can just fly from Stormwind.
Was just wondering though, that if you somehow allready got the Dal teleported there, it cant be in the deadwind pass anymore nut if the quest is not handed in, the teleport lady will just teleport you to the air and you die. Just a theory.
Well you might have a mild case of insanity, but I appreciate your devotion nonetheless. I would probably rather have a horse stand on my appendage than walk from archaeology site to site, but to each their own right? Either way, I’m glad your problem got sorted and I hope you’ll enjoy WoW for a long time yet!
