Worgen form toggle

Hey all! I d like to steal some of your precious time by submitting the following request/poll/discussion to the player-base. I will have to preface this by saying that I m a worgen fan and as such I was always wondering why can’t the Two forms skill be a toggle? Early on in the worgen quest-line one gets to control their feral nature and get back in touch with the human side so why can’t we have it as a toggle that persists through combat until used again?

T.L.D.R.: Turn worgen “Two forms” skill into a toggle that persists in combat. (I sometimes want to fight in my human form). Yay or Nay? Discuss:

Yay.

After all, the worgen managed to control their animal urges so I don’t see why not.

That is my reasoning behind it plus ofc I would enjoy having the option to fight in whatever form I chose.

Only issue I have with it being optional for combat purposes and such is…the point of playing a worgen, is for the worgen part of it…I understand the fuss, but humans are there waiting for you if you primarily want to play a human

Edit 1: an even better proposition would be to take human form away from worgens and watch how many people Race change from worgen over the lack of a human form and partial difference in accent I’d imagine. + then it would be more obligation to slap blizzard over a sheer lack of worgen customisation.

I’m not sure I understand why people don’t go human if they don’t want to play in Worgen form.

I agree with PunyElf but I also wouldn’t have a problem with Worgens fighting in Human Form. It might be fun for RPers.
I think Darkflight should definitely be Worgen only though.

druids

I mean sure why not.

I love that the Gilnean humans have a different speaking voice.

Might as well just make it another form of customisation when making a human  and just remove the human form from worgen when people want to play worgen for the human form

That’s not a good idea. The whole point of being a ware wolf is to turn into two forms.

I mean people playing worgen for the human form but with the intent of not wanting to play the worgen form, so why bother playing a human. Besides you spent at least 80% of play time in Worgen form if you consider PVP, open world questing, Any form of PVE. Literally anything which involves you taking on worgen form is required for any combat purposes.

They might as well just scrap the human form and give people what they want, gilnean sounding humans which don’t have to be worgen or might of never been worgen  since theres a pretty distinct barrier by this point and it defeats the point of playing a worgen if you let people stay human form even for combat.

It would be the same as asking to be a mechagnome but not wanting any mechanical parts.

TLDR: The toggle is fine as it is, push the limit any further and you might as well just strip the human from the worgen race entirely.

The different voice lines?

I agree. For those saying we should just roll a regular Human, there’s more to worgen than their wolf form. For me there’s the following that appeal to me

  • Their dark victorian aesthetic, including the music as well as the visuals
  • Their unique English accents and emotes (furry flirts aside)
  • Their lore. The fact they’ve contracted a werewolf curse is interesting in itself even if I don’t want to look like one most of the time. I also find it interesting that they have a different isolationist perspective from Stormwind humans.
  • Genn as a leader. He’s more experienced and much less naive than Anduin

But I end up not playing Worgen despite all that because I think they look bad in most armour (especially when using their travel racial ability) and it’s annoying to have to keep manually switching to human form out of combat. It’s not that I’d never want to use the Worgen form, but I’d like to use it only for the minority of the time.

Nay, wanna play a human roll a human. Worgen form should be enforced in combat. What would be nice though would be a toggleble autocast for Two-Forms that will automaticly put you in Human Form after combat.

This isn’t hard. You play a worgen not a human. They can give humans the gilnean voices as an option, instead.

the worgen curse is a curse. They are not druids who can change it at will

Worgy eat pork, worgy then strong to control form and be man - man then eat more pork and be strong like orc!

But no from porkyorcy, me no feed worgys or mans

But then you’d be spending most of your time in a shapeshifted form so the look of your race would be irrelevant at that point

Because it’s nice to switch appearances drastically and fun for RP. A human is only ever a human.
