Worgen shaman

Worgen shaman please! I just want to have claw weapons and fight as worgen shaman! Like a lycan!

Yeah I’m working on it champ. Expect it in a minor patch in Last Titan.

Naw, no thanks. Want claws, go Worgen Rogue or Warrior.

Sure, why not.
You’ve got Worgen Druids, the leap to Shamanism shouldn’t be that much of a step at that point.

Question is what you’d use as totems though?

If it were to happen, I’d love to see them as Jars with roses of various colors, and thorns.

Why jars?
I’m just curious here, but what would be inside them?
And why jars in general, because that sounds awfully fragile for a totem you’d plop down somewhere, like… a racial disadvantage that your totems would be weaker or something.

Because it is a game and going for more aesthetics. Jars with a rose, thorns, and what might symbolize the need like ashes or such. I mean, if jars are a problem, might I point out that for a long time, we had wood totems to cast fire spells?

The Gilnean people have had a close connection with nature more than the elements for a long time.

Gilnean traditions are more about druidic ways to work with the nature. And the same goes about the night elves. Unless we get playable Primalists, I hardly see shamanistic traditions appearing among either of them.

Honestly. I am more against giving all classes to all races. But then again, I’m also annoyed that Worgens were given Monk instead of Paladin.

To be honest, they should’ve been given both.

Druidism and shamanism are two sides of the same coin. There’s little reason a Harvest Witch couldn’t channel their natural appreciation into more shamanic talents as opposed to druidic.

Normally I’d err on the side of “Is this really a good combo?” but with Kul Tiran shamans, that cat is already out of the bag…

You can, at this stage, justify pretty much any race/class combo with minimal effort and worldbuilding.

If Blizzard are taking the position of “race-class combos can be exceptional” (which they are these days) rather than “race-class combos should be representative of the majority” (which they used to have) then there’s not much reason not to have every combo available other than the requirements for unique models/effects (druid forms, shaman totems, paladin mounts) needing dev time.

Which position is better will come down entirely to personal preference.

“You there, worgen! How on Azeroth did you learn how to become a shaman, your culture has no traces of shamanism to my knowledge. This makes very little sense. Very little sense indeed…”

“We’ve been in the Alliance again for years: a Wildhammer taught me. :)”

Really do be as simple as that.

During early winter, my worgen was part of a scout group searching for dangers in the Alterac Mountains. When a blizzard struck, he was lost from his friends and wandered in the icy snow for days.

When he was found, half dead, it was not by allies but by enemies: A Frostwolf patrol. Fortunately they were half snow-blind, and mistook him for an actual wolf, bringing him back to their camp, where he was forced to stay with them to survive the wintery blizzards for the next 3 months. They never suspected a thing. He watched, and waited, and in the process learned their shamanic talents.

He made his escape when the springmelt came, bringing the enemy’s secrets back to Gilneas.

Shaman for all races! I’m hoping one day it will be possible. Same with Paladins

I am all for the Drust approach, just not the elemental approach.

At this point in WoW’s story (and longevity) I don’t really see any compelling arguments to oppose all classes for all races honestly. Gimme all of them :fist:

I’m not against the idea, but the lore explanation or a racial tint would still be appreciated, if only to not look like copies of already existing traditions. For one, a worgen shaman can be heavily reliant on bestial spirits and Wild Gods’ boons, with the ancestral or elemental parts being secondary.

Well. They already mentioned that certain classes has no prediction of being race wide, like Demon Hunter, and Evoker. Just like they mentioned that Dracthyr and Earthern are not predicted to get Demon Hunter or Death Knight.
