Worgen vs. Kultiran

I am trying to pick a race for my Druid, and would love feedback from anyone who might have an opinion.

Here is the thing… I love the “nordic appearance” both Worgen and Kultiran bring to the table. But I have pros and cons for both…

Kultiran

  • Drust druid forms are 10/10, the absolute best in the game.
  • But Kultiran form is 5/10… (7.5/10 if we get more race customizations in the future)

Worgen

  • Worgen druid appearances are 1/10 (Legion forms are “okay”… 8/10 imo)
  • Human/Worgen race (two in one) is 10/10.

Essentially… Whenever I play my Kultiran Druid, I feel awesome when in my Druid forms. But as soon as I play Resto Druid (which I do 70% of the time), and I have to look at my Kultiran form… It feels like having the most amazing looking t-shirt design on the front, but on the back it looks bad.

On the other hand… Worgen looks really cool, has regular Human race as well, and MOGs look better on them than on Kultiran. But knowing that Kultiran has the most incredible druid forms… Feels like looking over at your neighbors drive way, and seeing that he has a much better looking car than you.

I know that “Night Elf is the best Druid race”… But I am not into playing a Night Elf hehe. So please… if you ABSOLUTELY can’t help yourself from commenting that “NE are the best!” on my post, then at least also give a proper opinion on Worgen and Kultiran too. It would mean a lot.

Basically I am just curious what other people think about the two races in order to make an easier decision for myself. Whether your argument is about their racials, MOG options, race visuals, or anything else… I’d love to hear it

It is actually illegal not to be Night Elf, so you should consider paying for a race-change and deleting this post.

(Kul Tiran is way better than Worgen though, I need to edit here because it can’t be overstated, Kul Tiran is waaaaaaay cooler than Worgen)

Kul Tiran. Just don’t play male. Kul Tiran females are gorgeous. Great human forms, best animal forms, and great racials too, more useful than shadowmeld even (unless you’re in MDI).

But if you don’t like the female kul tiran look (boo!), you have options:

You can buy the tree form book, and whenever you’re healing, just be a tree. Has the advantage of doing everything in a form. Tanking? Bear. DPS? Kitty or mighty chicken-tree. Healing? Lovely little tree (just don’t stand on top of campfires, you will catch fire). Running for your life? Best travel form, ever.

You can get the Toy from… Vashj’ir, I think? That turns you into a ghostly pirate gnome, regardless of form. Lasts until cancelled, and has a very short CD too. And gnomes are even more awesome than Kul Tirans.

If you’re playing resto druid 70% of the time and the Legion forms are “okay” then go worgen?

Seem to have more pros than cons (for you at least)

It would be nice for worgen druids to finally get the option to be able to choose worgen form as cat form. That would drastically increase the popularity of worgen druids.

I would never touch Kul Tiran with a 10ft barge pole. Getting a transmog that looks even moderately decent is a challenge. A lot of belts and chest pieces stretch across their fat bellies

It’s funny… I never actually tried sex changing my Kultiran to a female until this morning, and I gotta say that I’m very surprised over their movement animation, and how they look better in MOGs.

I never really had a problem with the Kultiran females body. It was more about “how snoppy/rich they look” hehe. They look like they are royalty and never wanna get their hands dirty (just like Nightborne, which is why they are my least favorite Horde race).

Where as the male Kultiran had a “dock worker” type of look, which I think was “okay” if you like the brute vibe hehe.

You know, I always heard others say that NE Shadowmeld was better, but when actually comparing their racials I thought Kultiran had better for casual PvP.

Love the coaching approach. You are definitely making a good point. It just sucks knowing that the Drust forms are not available then hehe.

And a updated “werebear” for the tanking form would be cool too. The current one looks muddy and old… The eyes looks like a badly painted Warhammer figurine by a 3 year old. I think it’s a failed attempt at making it look like a “glow” I think… :joy:

I had the same issue at the beginning, but that was because I tried to MOG him with the same mindset as my “non fat bellied” characters.

Now I use belts that don’t hang at the waist, which makes MOGing a lot more appealing. Especially the Kultiran heritage belt looks incredible, since I like “realistic” and non flashy MOGs.

My thoughts so far…

I really appreciate everyones thoughts on the two races.

It’s fun to see how some people just hate and won’t go near Kultiran, and others see Kultiran as the ONLY right choice.

Up until now I have been playing my Kultiran Druid in Shadowlands, and I think my issue might be that I have played Kultiran for so long, that the drust forms have become “normalized” to me…

Essentially, I USED to be able to tolerate the Kultiran human form because the drust forms came with it, but I have now hit a point where I don’t even notice the drust forms anymore unless I actively tell myself to look at it.

But now that I made a fresh Worgen character, I of course EMMIDIATELY notice that the drust forms aren’t there.

I think the solution is to level my Worgen “for fun” on the side, and then over time see if I still think the drust forms + kultiran racials is something I miss having.

Oh, that royal/rich look can be easily countered with some skimpy clothing.

For example:

This ain’t looking very royal to me. More of a barbarian/druidic vibe.

Please do Worgen! They have the Druid curse which makes them really fitting and I’m itching to tame a worgen

Kul Tiran all the way. Not biased, just the truth darling.

I rather like both Kul Tirans and Worgens. But I enjoy the Worgen lore and looks more. So for me Worgens win, but I would play either and be happy with it to be honest. (But of course I like Night Elf druids most…)

Now that I played my new Worgen char for about a week, I can definitely feel that the Drust forms are invaluable to me hehe.

I was hoping that the mage tower returning would allow us another shot at the Druid forms, since I took a break from WoW after the WoD disaster. But since Blizz announced that we will get MOG instead… and I can’t get what I consider to be the coolest Feral skin anymore… I see the drust forms as a consolation price. :joy:

I’m sticking with my Kultiran. :slightly_smiling_face: I see that allied races are getting their turn in terms of appearance options, so I’m crossing my fingers for more Kultiran options in the future.

Depends on what you want to do as druid. Generally - NE the best race for druid due to it shadowmeld, which is the best skill to avoid some mechanics inside dungeons or drop the agro for applying invisible cat form. BUT if you want to play only tanking druid - then you definitely should choose Kul Tiran for bonus versality

Lose lose situation

You can play as cute doggo which is a niche race, or you can play as fat man whos not a real druid and instead cursed

When you enter combat you automaticly turn worgen

:face_vomiting:

This wont affect you much unless u plan to heal

:joy:

Even if you heal, you can just buy the Tree book - in Moonglade, I believe - and heal in the old tree form.
