Work orders failure

pretty tising title there

so… how do i know an work order is using my resources or not? lets say i dont want to put my resources coz price is too low… but i have no way to see what resources the orderer added in… or if any , coz my resources in reagant bank or in bags will show up there in work order…

There is a little tick-mark next to the materials in the Order-window if they have been provided.
Hoover over it with your mouse and it’ll tell you.

This is why I find it really sad when people harass those who put up orders with just gold…
I agree it should be a LOT more obvious tho, but its not the fault of the orderer. You can always choose to not complete an order if it does not give you enough of what you need/want.

i dont have those tick-checkmarks next to materials, i think i know what you mean, i think i saw them before but now they arent there.

i don’t blame the thieves from trying to rob me like they JUST DID of 2 awakened order, i hope they CHOKE… but is a game issue.

Calling people “Theives” or “Scammers” for putting up orders people CHOOSE to do is just pushing even more toxicity to the front.
Please don’t.
Just because you did not double check said checkmarks and ignored the popup that happens when you craft the items - does not make the orderers the bad guys 100%.

The system needs updated alerts for people who do not pay much attention, for sure.
Right now it requires too much from people to notice.

There is a curseforge addon called No Mats, No Make that will add a coloumn to show you which have mats, some mats or no mats. Its called No Mats, No Make.

I thought if blizz ever decides to make this change it will be alongside a crafting UI revamp that gives price estimates for each material that isn’t provided so you have at least some reference as to whether it’s worth crafting or not with your skills.
I guess they just decided to make a system and let players create addons that provide this info.
I wouldn’t say it’s a bad philosophy, just unexpected.

I love that addon. No more listings of 1 silver with no mats

I think people get called Thieves and Scammers because they’re putting out Orders with a 10g tip, but missing mats that can sometimes cost Thousands of Gold.

Whilst Blizzard has done a good job of defending those making “honest mistakes” or are “testing the system out”. The reality is the vast majority of these people are just being cheap and hoping that someone misses the tick box.

Annnnd that makes them a scammer/theive how?
You decide if you want to complete the order, the person putting it up does not.

If I say I am gonna sell you some of my bathwater, I am not scamming you - cause I ain’t forcing you to buy this useless water… <_>
same with “I am selling you air” or “buy my scribbles” (like two lines on a paper that anyone can do, or in paint)…

So, my point still stands:
Those people are not scamming/theives, they are just putting up orders and you can choose to do them or not.

I choose to do some cause I skill up from it, I have lots of mats, and I don’t really care for the gold… :woman_shrugging:t2:

Can’t be bothered to explain since this is an old thread. Just watch the Matheus video from the other week on the subject. He explains it better than I ever will.

you’re right but if they can’t see it , if it’s not visable to them somehow or if it doesn’t ask ‘‘are you sure’’ type of question then it means that they do it without knowing of what they’re doing. it should be more obvious so people can CHOOSE to do the order or not.

There’s an addon out now that just lets you auto filter out ones that don’t have mats, or give skill ups etc etc m

There is nothing to explain tho;
YOU choose if you wish to complete said order.

How to spot if the person provided material:

  • Tick marks next to the items once you view the order.
  • A popup when you are pressing “create” that warns you.

You still complete it? Your choice.
Does not make anyone else into a theif or scammer.

I have already pointed out that I believe people need WAY MORE OBVIOUS WAYS to spot this, since so many seem ignorant (?) to it and just complete them anyway eventho they do not want to use their materials / waste their possible money.
Some people do, myself included, cause I just want skill + don’t care about the gold.
I chose to complete an order like that, my choice.
No “scammer” is forcing me.

Did you watch the video? Or are you going to remain Oblivious to human nature?

Whilst I am very careful myself, and would never fall of this scam. I know many people who have, because they’re simply clicking through the screens.

It is those people who the scammers are preying on. They are posted intentionally to catch people out who are not paying attention to what they are doing.

I’m not oblivious to human nature, but you seem oblivious to my point and what I have written.
There is no preying, there is no scamming; people are just clicking without looking.
If people do that, they are actually very dumb.
I’m not sure how far we need to go to protect dumb people…
– While also allowing normal people to do things for free. Myself included, which this system was originally intended for.
More orders, easier skills, My mats.

I understand your point, I even pointed out that I pay close attention when completing orders myself.

What you’re failing to understand is that people don’t pay attention. As internet users we are used to seeing check boxes that we just click “Okay” on to get through to the next screen. We’re used to signing up to things without reading the terms and conditions.

The scammers are preying on this mentality. That is why they are scammers.

You are correct that people should pay more attention. But that doesn’t stop the scammers from being scammers.

It’s the fact that people are intentionally preying on people. Sure there are some genuine calls. But the majority of the time it is scammers.

Jeebuz are you for real? You can’t compare ToS with this, at all.
This has TWO obvious calls - in your face - about what you are about to agree to.
ToS that are too unclear or written in ways that makes it half-impossible for anyone to reasonably understand are considered void in legal matters, by the way.

I’m not failing to understand anything, you are…
I’ve pointed out people just click things, people don’t care until they care (they loose mats).

That’s NOT making the ones putting up orders into SCAMMERS.
That makes PEOPLE DUMB.
Putting it on people making ORDERS as “SCAMMERS” or “THEIFS” is dishonest cause it was made for people like me who just want to throw stuff around for free with my own mats and gain order progress.

You throwing the word scammer in there because people are DUMB – and its such a low amount too – that pay ZERO attention to the TWO obvious ways to see if mats are provided; does not make the ones who put up the orders into the bad guys.

I can call you all sorts of names, does not make it true; so stop calling people scammers who are praying on people:
call it Dumb people who just do not pay attention…

It’d be the same with calling people scammers for putting up a gray item, useless item, for 10k – and someone buying it just willynilly cause they are dumb.

We can’t protect dumb people to that extent that it ruins it for normal people.

If the orders put up say:
Mettle :white_check_mark:
Stone :white_check_mark:
Dust :white_check_mark:
Orb

  • Click create: Popup < Are you sure you wish to complete this order? It will use your materials > - Yes | No
    Yes

And you ignore that, its on YOU - not the one who put up the order.
its YOUR fault you “lost” an orb, not the one who put up the order.
The orderer are NOT scammers because of this…

I have - AGAIN - said; Yeah make it EVEN MORE CLEAR that people use their own materials, for sure, cause people are - THAT DUMB -.
But - Do NOT call people scammers because YOU failed to check - TWO - warnings.

Dumb people can only be protected SO far until it impacts normal people, and calling people names for just using the systems we have like they were intended is just hostile and toxic.

There is an addon that can protect players as well and recently I noticed that a column showing if none, some or all has mysteriously appeared in the public work orders now too. So if you use the addon you will have double columns.

Addon is called No Mats, No Make and is on curseforge.

So we already have an optional safety net for said dumb people!

My argument was -
Again; Make it clearer for said dumb people - in game, for sure…
but don’t call people scammers for using the order system as it was intended.
Thats toxic and hostile.
(Not saying you did this, Ruff! Just adding it in for general.)

You’re really not worth debating this with since you’re unable to see outside of the box.

You keep making the same point, which I have acknowledge and even said that I do that myself.

But you seem unable to realise that there are many people out there who do this purely to scam.

Doesn’t matter, I’m not conversing with you anymore over this 5 day old topic.
