World of warcraft: Dragonflight!

i just hope the DPS dosen’t go below (or tanking and healing!)

I mean I partly agree with hating the idea of them taking (usefull) abilities and passives away, but didn’t people want the talent tree’s back? And I (mis)remeber the old talent tree also having passives in it.

So I suppose people got what they want, but not in the way they wanted it?

Personally I don’t mind eitherway, as they’ll tweak and tune it accordingly anyways and thenprobably ditch it at the earliest convience again(aka next Xpac) :man_shrugging:t3:

I’m noticing similar when I tried it with Blood. Love when patch day hits and I’m weaker than the day before.

You’d think they’d have learned by now. Guess not.

They could’ve added new stuff to the talent trees, instead of extracting stuff from the spellbook to fill it out. We’ve spent multiple expansions complaining about how patch day nerfs characters and they only feel better one or two patches deep and yet…

Blizzard has been doing this on large scale since MoP. They don’t seem to understand even after ten years of butchering game play that “button bloat” only becomes a problem when you create spells that are rendered unnecessary by design choices.
But what they do instead is they remove a cool and fun engaging ability for two expansions an recycle it either as an effect on a legendary or integrate it awkwardly into the talent system at 50% reduced power of the original.

The old talent trees were good, despite the “lol 1% extra damage” meme, which is nonsense as the talent line as a whole was a progression system which enhanced your levelling experience as you became stronger in power. Levelling itself now is considered a -chore- to do before hitting max level.

I just want to know how these talent trees aren’t just a cosmetic change to resemble something appreciated in previous expansions and just like the prior version of itself; an illusion of choice as the third party site built cookie cutter optimization will force you into an exact model to play your class optimally.

I think that’s just how video games are played nowadays, really–everyone wants to play their best, and that simply involves copying what’s considered the best or the most popular. The game won’t ever be perfectly balanced, and there will always be one loadout or build that’s going to be considered optimal. That’s unavoidable; what matters is that there are more ways to reach that optimal state.

Not gonna lie, I quit doing that a few expansions ago… I would choose an ability I find more fun over an ability thats supposed to be the best at that moment.

My fun in the game is more important to me then being the bested at my class :man_shrugging:

That’s OK, and that’s part of why other playstyles and builds should still be viable. But for many people that fun is besting other people at their classes, and they’re the kind of people who look up the best or popular builds no matter how balanced everything may be. That’s my point, and it’s been a thing in WoW since as long as can be.

Granted most of them on WoWhead currently do seem to actually expand and add new abilities and passives, except for Death Knights who are getting all of their baseline abilities gutted and only getting some back with different talent paths. But this was an issue I raised awhile ago with the talent trees: they just look like our current talent system with artifact weapon ability buffs and then 1 choice between 2 abilities occasionally.

God, i love the blue colors and the armours, they’r customization is gonna be epic for sure at least!

I think the dracthyr look massively better with those full armor sets and thicker proportions, and they have a very vast colour selection. Just praying for jutting teeth and beards, now!

please no beards…

Let me counter that with: Please no out of proportion beards.

We know Dragons have beards or rather long goatees in lore, no reason Dracthyr couldn’t!

Then again, being a Dwarf main… I am biased.
