I’ve been experiencing significant issues with world latency (MS) in World of Warcraft, and I’m hoping to gather some insights or solutions from the community.
For the past few months, my world MS has been fluctuating wildly, often spiking between 1000 to 16000 MS, making the game nearly unplayable. This problem seems to occur randomly; sometimes I can log in and play for a while without issues, but then it suddenly lags out, causing delays in casting spells, moving, and even basic actions like using my hearthstone. I’ve also encountered error messages like “transfer aborted: instance not found,” which adds to the frustration. I’ve tried numerous troubleshooting steps.
Despite these efforts, the latency issues persist. I’ve noticed that the problem might be more pronounced when zoning into instances or during high-traffic areas, which leads me to believe it could be related to server issues rather than my local setup.
Has anyone else faced similar problems recently? If so, how did you resolve them? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated, as I’m really struggling to enjoy the game with this ongoing issue. Thank you!
There were a lot of threads on this matter, some very long. We’ve never received any confirmation they’re aware of the issue or are looking into it - if it happened on US realms then sure, but EU? Guaranteed to be left w/o a response.
I’ve had this issue since ealy February, so over half a year now, and it still persists. And Blizz ignores the issue entirely despite quite a few folks having to deal with it.
You can try using PingPlotter to narrow down where the hiccup occures. For the vast majority of people with this issues it happens here (marked):

So there’s that. You could try using paid VPN (Vietnam, for instance) to circumvent this problem - worked for a handful of lads. But using a paid VPN in a game having a subsciption model that requires buying expansion packs… yeah, nah. Not paying three times for that. No other games have this issue, and if they had it was fixed within hours / days. Blizzard got time though, and waving their middle one at their customers for half a year is hardly surprising at this point /shrug
You can check this thread for some data you might find useful:
At this point its actually sad. There is no way im paying another sub for vpn, the blizz support totally dont give a F. I have a feeling like this guy from support is just copy pasting answers from AI
