I decide to write a topic about world of Warcraft team devs and how they failed keep this game on top of the list.
First,world of Warcraft was one of the best and famous games during 2004-2012 with millions of players around the world,golden ages for blizzard and the dev made a great work to achieve that.
After 2012 the “end” of WOW has begun,some of you gonna say “times change” or “the era of a game has an end “ or “the gamers have change their preferences” but let’s compared the “then” and “now”.
Take a look at the old WOW before 2012 and the nowadays WOW after 2012 and compare.
It’s obvious blizzard developers made this suicide for WOW all the devs since 2012 and the leadership destroyed WOW totally in one night,10 years now they watch with cross arms a GOLDEN game to decline and rot day by day year by year,they hiring devs with mindset of RIOT games,UBISOFT games with Japanese styles.These new Blizzars devs have no respect for our game,they have no respect for us as gamers.I’m playing this game since 2004 and we are all supported this game for many years with our time and our money and what we’ve got ? It’s time to wake up blizzard! If you want to make this game on top again go back to your roots and make this game as it was ON TOP!
These developers that we are all pay their salaries have changed the WOW and destroyed it like a paper tower.Nowdays Lore,art,gameplay are in ROT.
Interesting take here, but what exactly are you proposing to change? This rant seems little vague to me.
I disagree fundamentally, but I think I know what the problem is.
WoW nowadays is top quality accross all their titles except hardcore classic due to disconnect issues. It’s a game with constant updates and improvements. The gameplay is extremely smooth compared to any other competitor, and it is extremely deep and good. It’s so good, that you won’t get bored to just fight a target dummy and see how well you can do your rotation. In Wotlk classic the developpers consult community figures and old developpers before doing changes as far as I know.
A lot of people think the game is dead/dying, because at the end of a 6 month long season the public interest is lower, and I think having massive seasonal drop offs is bad, because new/returning players sometimes join and think that the game is dead.
What Blizzard should, in my opinion, definitely do is to stop seasonal resets, so there is always a reason to play and prepare yourself for the next raid. The iconic phrase “Are you prepared?” is exactly what wow should be about. Raid content should never be invalidated between seasons. A new player in season 2 should try to get gear from vault of the incarnates. Dungeon Keystone levels should go up every season meaning that at the end of the expansion we might do +200 keys. Resets should happen between expansions. Seasons should elevate the highest possible key levels and bring a new dungeon pool. There should absolutely be catchup, but the catchup is not meaningful, if the gear resets. That’s the problem of dreamsurges. Why catch up, if the gear is irrelevant?
Considering the decisions you guys are discussing make or break 100 billion dollar companies I’d hardly call them obvious or easy.
WoW has possibly one of the most diverse audiences of any game, so making it enjoyable to new players while keeping it rewarding to veterans. Satisfying those who like to take it slow but also having highly claimed “instant action buttons” so you can just log in for some quick fun…
And tying all of them together with a progression system that feels rewarding but not oppressive…
And doing this for almost 20 years?

Thank you for reply but dear player could you please tell me why most of wow players have a nostalgia about old wow and they pray to have that feeling to retail wow as it was then? Could you please tell me why there are no new players remain to wow and they are most leaving the game in first 2 months? Could please tell me why most of the players are playing classic and WOTLK ? Dragonflight was amazing for 1 month and it really WAS but that hype it’s over since there is no content out there anymore,there is no reason to run the VOI raid ,there is no reason to run keys since the reward is RIO,there is no reason to grind for professions,there is no reason to do daily,there is not reason to anything ! If you think WOW is number of RIO and trasmog you are playing the wrong game my friend.WOW it was an adventure and a personal in game challenge it’s not number from RIO or a trash gear that I’m gonna delete it next patch.

You continue your post by badmouthing the devs. You’re not saying why ‘old’ was better.
Give some examples of things you liked better in comparison.

Because people have nostalgia of times when they were young, had no responsibilities and could happily play all day. And it’s connected to WoW in their mind. Btw, “most” is questionable metric with no proof.
Because it’s 20 years old games using 20 years old mechanics and can’t compete with new games in terms of players experience. Imagine WoW would be released today. Not re-released, being very known and famous 20 years old IP, but like fresh new game nobody knew before. It will be complete failure, because it very very outdated for current gaming standard.
Not sure if it’s correct, we need number proofs of that.
Not really but you’re welcome to have your opinion. But judging from this thread you’re just another armchair dev that needs to take a break.
Do you have more than one account btw or is this all you’ve done since 2004?
Seasonal drop off, nostalgia, lower intellectual load, higher meaning in classic, i.e. no progress resets every 6 months, community-narrative of retail being bad due to internet streamer culture, lack of pay2win features in classic hardcore, lower cost, social reasons, and so on.
I think that is the biggest and most important problem personally that differentiates retail from the classic titles
System killed World of Warcraft and they keep doing it! I dont think they realise it yet!
