I do not expect a reply from a blues, nor I do expect answers at all to this topic.
Just pointing out a couple of facts on the status of the game.
Few months back a Druid went to solo Ironforge boss…SOLO. I was there and as a fire mage using ALL my CDs, together with Ironforge boss and the guards, we couldn’t kill him, and every time he focused on me I had to run when low life, get ooc, wait for my CD then try again…we only managed to stop him because I made a group and found 3 people on the finder, and we managed to kill him and save Ironforge boss…against a SINGLE DRUID.
These days in Ironforge a resto druid (not as good as the other one), keep coming and annoys people with his moonfire. He does very low damage, but 1 vs 1 he’s immortal. So you can waste 10 minutes hitting him, he hits you back and heals and you can’t kill him. Today we managed to kill him with 2 mages. Took us 5 minutes following him while he healed, ran away, and we followed with out flying mounts…5 minutes to kill a resto druid with 2 mages…1 fire, 1 frost
This shows 2 problems.
World pvp balance sucks, meaning war mode is HELL for any of the non-immortal classes (any non-druid mostly, but I guess there are other broken/immortal classes)
A single druid, be it the first 1, tanking, or the second 1 healing, should NOT be able to survive a mage nuking him WITH 5-6 city guards helping, WITH (in case of the tank) one of the Alliance BOSS hitting him…you need to increase guards stats/level/damage/whatever, because right now, a FROG in shadowlands is more dangerous than a full squadron of Ironforge guards
Not expecting a fix any time soon, and…let me add my personal 2 cents regarding this
Shadowlands is NOT a great expansion. Low content, passable story and so on. having to face this kind of crap balance together with the very few thing left to do in the game…it is no wonder WOW keep losing players to FFXIV, Lost ARK and even new world (for the month it lasted).
If you don’t want to fix pvp balance, and allow some classes to be immortal in world pvp…fine…but at least make it harder for them to solo whole squadrons of city guards and faction bosses
It is true, they really need to get their stuff together and create more classical vanilla like game where content was HARD but not the way m20 is hard, it was hard in a very special way that it would keep you interested to play, I remember very good that as a rogue 30 lvl I couldnt kill turtle 4 lvls higher then me in vanilla fresh, I still remember that very good because I went to level my hunter because rogues were so bad at lvling.
I say that because they made game so convenient in non competitive high end content that it is not interesting at all. They need to fix scaling and numbers from basic attacks, also they need to scale mobs and do something with mana because it is really useless at this point, you said yourself that druid healed for 5mins, that means 5min non stop spamming…
We need things like RUNES from special mobs that drop in open world for mana menagement and potions as we have now but we need more items to balance mana pool.
I don’t know how they going to do it, because of raiding and high end content, they could add some item that you could farm in open world that would give players insane mana regen whenever you use it (usable only in dungeons and raids), maybe that could solve problem, I dont know, I am not sure, but we really need some improvements on NPC dmg and health and other things like guards and bosses and rares even in open world.
We also need more basic wow farming routines where you would go in open world and sustain your character with all kind of things, will it be AMMO or POISONS or SHARDS or RUNES AND FLASKS or that special item for mana regen (2h timer buff) or anything similar that we could do as a ritual every day to sustain character, do it instead of all systems that you had before and people will have a blast, trust me, thats what community wants…
Just thinking about the 4 level above turtle you mentioned, and that is how a game with zone level worked…and how they destroyed this with the level scaling in different zones
But I wonder…as a suggestion…how hard can it be to make city guards (Ironforge, Stormwing, Ogrimmar, Thunderbluf, etc. etc.) have the same damage of a BASIC raid elite?
How hard can it be for a city boss, to have the same damage and health of a raid HC boss?
These are simple changes that could show a base level of care for the game.
Truth is…every expansion blizz focuses ONLY on the new zones, and the rest of the game can go to hell.
So…they focus ONLY on arena pvp and world pvp can go to hell
So…they focus ONLY on M+ and raid and after that there’s nothing to do in the game
and so on…
90% of the game is made of unused zones, where no player goes anymore…and when one decides to go to visit them (ironforge), here comes an immortal druid showing how broken world pvp is
bah…in 2022…pvp is arena and arena is pvp…what a crap way to kill 90% of the game content
because they watch forums, and like 90% of people commenting on forums have idea of wow becoming like easy game with end game focus theme, no wonder why 10 millions people quitted wow, it is not classic mmorpg anymore, it is turning to modern market and more and more stuff will you see like that, I play because of boredom, and purely because of that, and I think combat is still nice so I enjoy pvp, but that is all, 1 aspect of that many things, I think they are doing job very poorly, but it is their idea of how things should be, not on me to change things.
And a group of 5 horde…FIVE…managed to kill Ironforge Boss…obviously there is no alliance flagged pvp around, but that is normal considering who plays alliance these days…but the fact that a faction boss, inside a faction city can be killed by 5 players
The guards are annoying enough as it is - infinitely respawning, can shoot through walls etc. Remove these features and then we can discuss buffing city guards.
So by your logic…the fact 5 people can kill a faction boss protected by guards…soemthing that “SHOULD” require a raid…is ok because guards are…annoying
Agree world pvp is great fun and they havent cared for it much. Make so you could get conquest by killing higher ilv players and make it so people get into it.

Well and it turns out BFA was more fun than SL and that people cries when they can just turn pvp off.
If they kill world pvp lots of people will quit too. Including myself. Just my two cents.
PvP is beyond broken in SL. You can’t even beat a 60 on 60, when you are behind in gear even if you are the most skilled person on the planet.
The ilvl explosion is one of the most important nails in the coffin. Good balance would mean that you could at least beat a level 60 with some level 55+, but not in this game.
There is too big gap between gear on max level (normal/mythic or +2/+15).
On the other hand we had scaling and hunters one-shooting max lvls.
Oh and different numbers on screen and much lower dmg actually done. Never again…
I doubt there will be a moba experience in (MMO)RPGs… and I am personaly cool with that. I think the hybrids are more of a pain.
Agreed, there is. I don’t think there should be any gap @ max level.
Players should earn their win by playing well, not feel ‘entitled’ to a win because they Mythic raid / play arena.
We had/have Hunters doing this without scaling.
Hunters one-shot in levelling brackets / season 1 SL Hunters 1-tapping people from stealth / Hunters still 100-0 people in 2 GCDs.
I don’t see why that’s a problem?
(Probably because I don’t do maths in real-time whilst playing)
