World quest talking heads disrupting regular quest dialogue

This must be a bug? That’s why I am putting it in customer support.

there are many quests that have NPCs talking to you as you travel from one place to another. I am finding that the world quests are creating a significant disruption, talking over the NPC for the quest I am currently trying to do. I turned off world quests on the main map.

I tried the addon ‘bequiet’ but of course it silenced the NPC dialogue when i’m doing some quests, which is of course not ideal. I don’t know how this is coded, but I think the main quest dialogue is supposed to have a higher priority than world quests?

It happened when I was flying from azsuna to suramar on stellagosa with valtrois. I was trying to listen to what they were saying. inflections matter. when i finally managed to listen to it somehow, the inflection in her voice really changed the meaning. This is important.

This has been an issue for many expansions now and isn’t limited to World Quests. Many normal dialogs even things like the flavour texts you get when clicking on NPCs can mess up important dialog. Pretty much every expansion or patch at least one key narrative moment is severely damaged by this problem.

That said Customer Service aren’t able to change how the game engine works - the best way to make sure the feedback reaches the developers who can do this is to use the in game feedback form - or if you have access to the Midnight Beta post a feedback thread in there.

This has indeed been a thing for a very long time, and isn’t really a bug. That’s just how the game works.

Customer Support wouldn’t be able to change how the game works, but you can of course provide this kind of feedback to our developers. :slight_smile:
