I’ve just been disconnected on two different characters, with the same message “World Server Is Down”. I finally managed to get onto a different character, but it lasted about 2 minutes before I got disconnected again. I decided to not continue trying anymore tonight.
What can you expect, its just a billion dollar company that has been running since early 2000’s. Happy to see that subscription fees are going into maintaining and upgrading hardware.

Whole game is down, tried the locked and dead servers I have some characters on, same thing.
I also had a funny error when I was in Firelands and then attempted to exit the instance. Going through the portal got me an error in the chat: “Transfer aborted, no instance found”. Same for trying to hearthstone out 
… a relog worked out (but I got disconnected afterwards anyways). What a nice game we have.
Hopefully it’s a quick hotfix to fix some of the bugs. PvP damage and healing isn’t functioning correctly at all.
I dread to think what release day is going to be like. I’m also not surprised in the slightest. All the gear and no idea as usual.
You’d think they would be able to launch a patch without server load issues in 2025. They’ve been doing this for 20 years at this point and it’s not that hard in the modern day…
The interns are going out and buying new hamsters for the wheels in the server room as we speak! The one and only Dev/GM that is working on updates in Cataclysm Classic. Need to cut him some slack (Im prob not that far off).

Nethergarde Keep EU is down most of time. Sometimes it’s possible to enter the zone for a couple of minutes, then disconnect with “World server is down” message. Currently Dalaran is online, Stormwind is not.
I believe Exodar/Silvermoon should be fine as well, it’s likely only Kalimdor/Eastern kingdoms issue

Wouldn’t bet on it, it’s been an active bug on the beta and ptr for weeks now, gave up on reporting it (actually gave up on beta testing for free because of this bug).
They just didn’t bother to look into it and get it fixed before going live.

then why da F dident they delay the prepatch …go figure.
And do something responsible? The horror… Who does things like that, this day and age?
