World Tree

Nordrassil - Blown up, didnt do much to the world
Teldrassil - Burned down, didnt do much to the world
Andrassil - Got corrupted and felled by the druids, didnt do much to the world. Now renamed Vordrassil
Shaladrassil - Has been corrupted by the Emerald Nighmare for a loooong time. Lasting effect? Nearly unnoticed by the world.

So… “World tree” holds little meaning and is mainly just a large tree. Most of them grown for elves to be immortal (well atleast 3 of the above)

Edit: And even then, the immortal part wasent even done by the tree but with the blessing of ONE aspect.

So you don’t know. Gotcha. :+1:

I am not trying to change your mind, I’m just bashing you for admonishing the OP for what is actually a fair question. What is my character’s motivation for protecting the World Tree? The developers don’t really provide much of any answer to that in-game, let alone in any books. Whatever answer there is, is pretty vague.

You claimed it to be self-explanatory, but you don’t have much of an explanation to offer. So much for the pedestal, eh?

Dont get this question, did he attack Amirdrassil from prison? no, so what are you on about?

It’s in the name, I’ve said it twice. How much more self explanatory should it get exactly?

Sorry you need an out of game thesis to discuss what it says on the box.

In other news coffee is meant to be hot, don’t sue a fastfood chain when you spill some and burn yourself because it wasn’t self explanatory.

What does a World Tree do?

Your assumptionis as good as mine.

I thought it was self-explanatory?

Whenever someone brings up “family”. Run cause it’s a damn cult.

Again “world” tree.

So… big?

Another neutral city where alliance and horde can kiss and dance togheter. Bleah.

Which is different from “tree” how exactly?

The word “world”.

I’ll withdraw myself from this conversation here, because I can feel I am on the verge of saying things I shouldn’t be saying.

So it differs as much to other trees like an Ash tree does to an oak tree and the word “world” could be replaced with “big” tree.

Saves money. They don’t have to design and develop two cities, In my opinion the only reason Blizz has decided Alliance and Horde are friends.

I thought it was pretty clear in the game that the reason we are saving the World Tree as Horde (or Alliance) is that Fyrakk wants to use it for evil means. Seems pretty clear to me we are also not at war with the Alliance. We are all working together.

I take everything in the game at face value. I’m not going to buy a book or have to watch something elsewhere. The game should include everything we should need to know and if it doesn’t then they’ve failed.

I assumed it was because Fyrakk was using shadowflame which would cause the kind of corruption to The Dream and Azeroth that everybody is worried about.

TBH its knida a moot point for me anyways…it would be a very boring game if every race just stuck in their little area and never interacted at all.
Id much prefer to see alliances formed, broken, etc.

The tree was never planted or grown in our world was it? Why would it have a connection stronger to it then anywhere else in the Emerald Dream? And as with Shaladrassil, even Teldrassil, both those world trees were corrupted and both connected to the dream in some form.

So far, a world tree is more of a liability to the world while giving it next to no bennefit. What does it do? Honnestly, why is it needed while being such a weak point that can end the world if corrupted?

Shadowflame is a different kind of corruption. It’s connected to the old gods and the unleashing of it across Azeroth via the world tree would likely return them to power.
