Worldsoul Memory Rewards

With the launch of Season 2, many players are returning to the Worldsoul Memories to help Azeroth deal with those long-ago events and earn rewards in the process!

We’d like to talk about how those rewards are given out, because there’s been some confusion about how things are awarded.

At a high level, as you defeat enemies within the Worldsoul Memory, you increase your Worldsoul Memory Score (found at the top of your screen during a Memory). When the event ends, your Worldsoul Memory Score directly translates to the level of your reward with no variability. That is, scoring 100 points in a Worldsoul Memory always gives the same level of reward.

However, not every point is the same. The first points you earn in a Worldsoul Memory are significantly more important to your score than later points. Increasing your score from 10 to 20 increases your reward much more than increasing your score from 200 to 210. There are several breakpoints, but the most significant are at 100 and 400 points. While Worldsoul Memory Score can go very high - rewards stop increasing only at 5000! - once you hit 100 points you’ve already earned more than half the total possible rewards, and at 400 points you’ve just over three-quarters of the possible rewards.

And of course, if you used the “Many Radiant Echoes” option to join the event, your rewards are multiplied by 5. The breakpoints are all the same. If you did five Worldsoul Memory events with a single Radiant Echo and earned exactly 100 points in each of them, you would earn exactly the same reward as doing a single Worldsoul Memory event using Many Radiant Echoes.

It’s worth discussing why things are set up this way. Why are the early points worth more than the later points? The reason is simple: we want players to feel like it’s okay to play how they want while still rewarding group play. Players who join Worldsoul Memories solo or in small groups will naturally earn fewer points than those who join in a full synchronized raid group. However, because these breakpoints exist, and the earlier points are worth more, the players in the small group aren’t missing out on as many rewards as they would if the rewards scaled with score completely linearly.

We hope this helps you understand how Worldsoul Memories work, and good luck collecting those Valorstones and Coffer Key Shards!

I appreciate the explanation, but honestly, I feel not compelled to do these events at all.
They simply do not interest me, nor do I get a group easily going to attempt the ones with higher settings.

Like, the only times I’ve even done them was because someone did it and I just stumbled on it by accident.

I think there should be some cosmetics, pets and toys that drop during the events to encourage engagement. On my server I so rarely see anybody else doing them.

Thank you for the explanation. I have tried this event out a few times in Season 1 but I stopped doing it because it didn’t feel rewarding.

Yeah, went there exactly once during the whole expansion so far, didn’t understand what I was supposed to do or what good it would be, never returned after the timer run out, just let the “keys” or whatever they were sit in my bags after that.

Often see groups up to do them in premades. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Same. I actually have no clue what this is, and didn’t look it up. Tried to understand it there and then, but I really didn’t get it. I might just be a little slow, but this one left me wondering what exactly was the point of my participation.

Worldsoul memories give key fragments (For the reward chest at the end of bountiful delves), if you don’t do a lot of delves, yeah, there’s not much point to them for you.

To think I was swimming in keys prior to reset… now I want todo bouties but am freshout. :sob:

i dont even know what worldsoul memory is
i just saw some videos on youtube .

Thanks. I didn’t remember the rewards, but no, not done many delves. It was mostly that I didn’t understand how the world soul memories worked. I tried figuring it out while in, but I felt nothing was really happening besides killing as much as possible. And perhaps some spesified targets. Sounds like this might actually be all that is to it?

Obviously I would have looked it up if I was interested, but I just left it at that and continued questing. I still have plenty of story to go through, as I’m kind of too busy or exhausted irl to play most of the time. Not complaining in other words, but I just spotted someone else who seemed to also not quite get it, and decided to comment in case this is a common issue.

And before someone comments my forum activity instead of playing, I have more access to the forums than the game. Atm I am a passenger on a 2 hour long car drive, so no, I don’t have access to the game atm.

That’s pretty much it, kill/collect items, and when named mobs show up, kill them, it’s far from the most complex content in the game, but more than 100 fragments (So one key and part of another) for 5 minutes is decent enough if you need those keys for delves.
