trying to get the known macro to work in WOTLK. This is what I have
#showtooltip
/cast [known:50334] Berserk
/cast [known:24858] Moonkin Form
/cast [known:33891] Tree of Life
It works, i.e. it casts the right spells depending on what spec is active. But the tooltip just doesn’t work. It shows the correct tooltip when Berserk is available, but not for the others.
Not sure why #showtooltip doesn’t play well with [known], but this should work:
#showtooltip [known:50334] Berserk; [known:24858] Moonkin Form; [known:33891] Tree of Life
/cast [known:50334] Berserk
/cast [known:24858] Moonkin Form
/cast [known:33891] Tree of Life
I’d restructure the macro like so:
#showtooltip [known:50334] Berserk; [known:24858] Moonkin Form; Tree of Life
/cast [known:50334] Berserk; [known:24858] Moonkin Form; Tree of Life
May even be possible that this works:
#showtooltip
/cast [known:50334] Berserk; [known:24858] Moonkin Form; Tree of Life
I tried to give the conditional to #showtooltip as well like you suggested
#showtooltip [known:50334] Berserk; [known:24858] Moonkin Form; [known:33891] Tree of Life
/cast [known:50334] Berserk
/cast [known:24858] Moonkin Form
/cast [known:33891] Tree of Life
but unfortunately no luck either. Same behaviour as the original one. Only shows the tooltip if spec of the first spell is active (Berserk in this example). But not for others.
I am not 100% sure this. I couldn’t find any information whether or not [known] is supposed to be fully supported in WOTLK or not. But from my understand WOTLK and Retail have the exact same API?
Anyways, the [known] does work perfectly in all the /cast parts of the macro. Just the tooltip wont behave.
But yeah, I noticed some “unknown macro option” errors as well.
wow … haha. I thought it throw some error if you trying to /cast a non existent spell, but seems the behaviour is to ignore that line and go to the next.
Yeah, so this is the answer then… [known] is not supported in WOTLK, too bad.
