WOTLK Classic FPS cap no longer working (Fixed, But...)

Since the latest patch for WotLK classic, capping FPS doesn’t work anymore. My FPS shoots up over 600 which, as expected, starts melting my GPU. Normally I keep it capped at 102. Furthermore, you can’t seem to change any graphic settings either; they just don’t save.

I remember this being an issue on retail some time ago. I sure hope they are aware of this and they fix it soon.

Edit: FPS cap was fixed, but myself and a looooot of people are still reporting the Environment Detail and Ground Clutter sliders are still being decreased by 1 every time the Graphics System window is opened and closed.

Same… My computer is old/poor and doesn’t! Allow me higher than 35 fps (its fine, im used to it). But now without been able to cap the fps, wow has become totally unplayable! It Burns! Burns! Burns!

Max Foreground FPS dont works now
I try to cap fps at 100 ingame with Nvidia control panel, but its dont works too

Good job, blizzard

Same issue boys

Same issue here, fans going highwire in my PC… can’t get them fps down to my usual 100

Same problem here sigh, they bump up and graphic card starts to melt

Same here, gfx card at near 100 degrees, trying to spit out 500 fps while stationary in the storm peaks. I’ve literally had to turn the game off and stop playing till a fix is issued. I’ve read in another thread that using vertical sync works, but that also doesn’t save for me. Also the graphics settings themselves go back down to 1 every time i log in. Apparently this was reported numerous times on the PTR and yet they still release the patch without a fix for it. GG

The fact that neither the one in the game NOR the one in the nVidia driver work anymore, suggest that it might not actually be a “Blizzard problem, gg”, but a problem with the underlying API. Also known as a “Microsoft Problem”

Sorry, I know it’s not funny, but I just got a mental image of a little gnome trying to blow over his GPU

Joke aside, seriously :woman_facepalming:
Who’s in charge of the «graphics improvements»@ Blizzard? An intern?
(Brand new Epic Games justification , it’s the intern)

And i have 14 fps after update and i had 140…its unplayable

Waiting for fixes.

Same issue here, waiting for fix. Also when I save my graphics setting the slider setting saved being number seven, I open the menu back up and it will be on 6, and go back to 5 if open it up again and so forth…

Same issue, though Vertical Sync at least locks it to the main monitor refresh rate.
My other issue is that setting Graphics Quality to 10 does not work either. It will automatically go down to 9 after clicking Okay. And each time you reopen System, Environment Detail amd Ground Clutter goes down even a step further.

Yes same here for me with graphics . It goes down 1 everytime you reopen system settings automatic…
Was driving me crazy yesterday

It’s actually hilarious how they manage to fabricate bugs like this. I’ve never, in all my 19 years of playing games, heard of a problem where your system settings just change themselves :joy_cat: :joy_cat:

Come on, it’s the future of gaming: AI everywhere !!!
Well, this can be problematic if the AI is just … stoopid :stuck_out_tongue:

P.S: I’m just kidding btw. Their system is just borked … once again.

Same here. FPS cap doesn’t work. Also Environment Detalis and Ground Clutter change it self whenever I close and reopen settings. It lowers from 10 to 9 and goes on.

Also recommended settings are inappropriate. I can play easly on max settings but it recommends me to play on the lowest.

Happy patch days everyone…

What are your predictions guys, will they fix it till Cataclysm?

Blizzard don’t care about performance and technical issues anymore. Stuttering is a good example in Retail. It’s been months and they did nothing. Dead silence in that matter as well. So be ready this might stay like that for very long time.

Me: Siri, tell me when Blizzard will fix the issues.
Siri: Blizzard? Fix? Sorry, I do not understand your question. Please rephrase.
