Wotlk fresh servers

So, if I understand this right, blizzard will release fresh servers with the wotlk pre-patch.

I dont know how many fresh servers they plan to release, but could there atleast be one server option that is:
-No character boosts allowed
-No server transfers, either to or from, allowed
-No race or faction changes
-PvP server, with the enforcement that you cannot stack characters on one faction. It will be close to 50/50 population wise. If you try to create new characters on the more popular faction it wont allow you or something similar.

Thoughts? Am I the only one that wants this perhaps?

Almost all your wishes will come true, except most have a minimum time until they might happen of 90 days.

That is the one thing that won’t happen. Blizzard have never cared about faction balance.

Neither have players, interestingly enough, as they tend to jump ship the moment their server slightly tips in favor of the other faction.

Imo, this is really asking too much, they never did this in whole wow history.
That said, dreaming is welcome and healthy.

IIRC someone told that fresh servers will stay like that for three months, converting to regular server with all paid services right after.

the fresh servers will be “locked” for atleast 90 days. ATLEAST. they might open for transfer / boost on day 91. they might not even be open for that on day 1000. it depends on realm health

I’m rolling fresh. Faction depends which one is the bigger faction atm and i’m joining the underdog one.

Is it, though? Are we really used to this mediocrity that this is asking for too much? I’m sure blizzard could implement this if they gave less than half an effort. IIRC FF14 has a similar function when trying to create a character on a full server; it wont allow you.

Also, classic was NEVER gonna happen, until one day it did. So might aswell ask and try.

Also, about fresh servers staying paid-service free for 90 days, thats great. But how about this one server stays paid-service free forever? It should even warn you when you select the server that transfers, boosts etc will never be allowed.

Yes, but thing is FF14 dont have factions to balance. Never played it, just heard so.

I am sorry to disappoint you, but Blizzard was very clear in their statements that Fresh servers WILL get boosts and transfers, only the date is in question. Their boost selling intent is even clearer. History of Classic proven that asking Blizzard to change something that they’ve already decided is pointless unless you shout and scream in masses and threaten them with big riot. Fresh folks stand strong, but their number is not as big to make Blizzard change its mind.

Agree with this. There is 1 service they might postpone though. If a realm has a healthy balanced population on day 90, they might postpone the possibility of transferring to the realm. The rest of the services will be added on day 91, pretty sure.

Where have they said that? The only thing I have seen them say is that they will not allow transfers and boosts for a minimum of 90 days.

Obviously they will add that but I am just curious where they said that that they will?

Blue announcement for Fresh Realms on NA Forums, jump to blue response from Aggrend.

Sad that NA gets more accurate info than EU.

If you are lazy reading their wall of text, posting here the exact paragraph about it:

“So to reiterate, 90 days is the absolute minimum amount of time we’d wait to open transfers, and we intend to listen to the feedback we get on this very carefully. If the realms are healthy and we don’t feel the need to open transfers on these realms, we won’t rush to do so.”

Won’t rush to do so pretty much clearly says it is a sure thing that boost and transfers will come. Otherwise they would just say, we won’t do so.

Very interesting.

There is nothing saying that transfers must flip on exactly on day 91, day 191, or even day 991 and we don’t intend to commit to an arbitrary timeframe for transfers to become enabled super far ahead of time.

They are technically open for the idea to not open transfers for several years! One can only hope  Maybe we will beg them to open transfers for whatever reason but if it’s not needed then they may actually just not do it.

Or quite the opposite. Even if Fresh folks beg them to not open transfers and boost, they will do it as they will “feel the need for it”. They always feel the need for $it$.

I don’t like to be pesimistic but this is the most probable variant. Fresh is a project condemned to failure from the very start. But at least there will be some months of fun.
