Wouldn’t it be an idea to rule GDKP spam away from trade chat like "Boosting sales was moved to (services channel) in retail. It makes people able to use trade chat what it actually was meant for. Trading / Selling items.
You could probably make an argument that TradeChat is for selling items but you could also use that argument to say that a GDKP run is literally selling the items too.
The real problem is that due to botting and bought gold the prices for GDKP items are ridiculous and are only getting worse.
Like the guy who, at lvl 60, bought a Naxx sword for 198k gold.
Ain’t no way anyone’s gonna convince me the guy just really likes DM:E Jump-runs and farming peacebloom in Elwynn.
That’s just blatant at that point, yet very little is done about it and what is done is easily countered by botters and gold-sellers who’re making a living off of this game.
I honestly think that LFG and Tradechat are too far gone on the mega-realms to be saved at this point lol
I agree, it might be too far gone but they could at least force it like in retail (this is minimal effort and easy for them to do). It’s literally impossible to post something its there for a split second and all the GDKP spam is back.
You might have had a reasonable point somewhere, but it kind of falls flat when you need to use a extreme example from 3 years ago.
Just make it look like you have zero experience with what you are complaining about, and just are repeating the same nonsense other posters with no experience with gdkps do.
On what kind of ghost servers are you playing where you can actually read trade chat?
It’s just to point out how absurd it is. If you think the prices are lower now, check out the prices for Death’s Choice.
Spoiler alert, it’s higher than 198k, may be going for less now as we’re more than a few weeks into TOGC tho. But I’ve seen it above 400k.
It might look absurd, but imagine the amount of gold that exist in the economy and gets created every single day.
500g is reasonable amount of gold to earn by doing dailies right now without doing the annoying ones. If 1000 players do dailies one day, thats 500k gold created out of thin air.
Thats 15 million gold in 30 days. Just from 1k players doing dailies. There are a ton of other sources of gold as well as megaservers have too many players that create gold.
Some of that gold gets removed by repairs, and purchasing stuff, Some will rot and never used, but the majority of that gold gets spendt on the auction house thus inserted into the servers economy.
A lot of this money will end up in gdkps.
And now look at some of these gdkps, the one i participate in is hosted by a well known guild on my server, they are doing 4 togc and 2 ulduar every week atm, they have mostly 15 guild members in every raid , which means that a lot of their players will get a ton of pot money. The average payout from a toc is between 15k and 20k gold.
With that average gold per run, how many runs would it take to earn 400k? A player attending all 4 of the togc runs every week would only need to play for 5-7 weeks to afford buying deaths verdict for 400k.
But these players have been doing gdkps since vanilla, 400k gold is not a amount that can only be achieved by buying gold.
Now dont get me wrong, RMT gold exists and gets used in gdkps, but dont underestimate the amount of gold that very active gdkp players can have access to without cheating themselves.
(A 400k deaths verdict is also very likely to be bought by guild money and not a single players personal stash)
Sorry if my post feels messy to read, wrote it while multitasking other stuff
I’m pretty sure by now they have enough gold to sell it on 3rd party websites for real money and that’s what they do. The more runs a group does per week, the more likely it is that they are doing it for real money, because at some point it starts to feel like a job.
Gehennas EU Horde
Some might do that yes, but unless you have something to back up your claim with, you are just spreading toxic rumors about people you have zero knowledge about.
Oh that’s easy, go to any gold buying website, pick a seller name and then search for their discord. Compare users with your realm’s discord.
