Hello there , Last night i Purchased Name change on my priest and it immediately got through , however when i login my old name still showing on my char + character panel + chat , i thought i could wait few hours so it fixes but 1 day later it still hasn’t being fixed no one can whisper me no one can invite me and i can’t use LFG system pretty much the char is unplayable i opened a ticket and it says that average wait time is 31 days and 4 hours , so i basically paid 10 euro to ruin my character and not be able to play and no one answers me

Are you using any addons?
i deleted cache disabled addons and did everything else the problem is everyone else also see my old name thats why when they try to whisper me or invite me they can’t! , i also made a character with the old name and asked a friend to invite both of my chars and i had 2 same name chars at the same time
The only thing I can think of is try a change of password, if that doesn’t work you will have to make a ticket and wait in the huge queue for them.
When you say you disabled addons, did you move the WTF and Interface folders in the _Classic_ folder to another location like your desktop or just turn them off ingame? You can move the folders back and overwrite the new ones if it doesn’t work. You should get the intro movie if it works.

Ofcourse Dottie would think about everything else first except a Blizzard screwup. Did you really think this was a bug because of his addons or his WTF folder? Lmao did you even read his problem? I hope Blizzard fixes it soon for you, I doubt there’s anything you can do about it on your end, try deleting & restoring the char.

When you say it immediately went through, you mean you got the popup saying “Your order/namechange is ready” or whatever it says? When I used name change it took like a hour for it to go through, thought it bugged out as well but I got the popup on character select when I restarted my battlenet.
You could try downloading 2 addons: BugGrabber and BugSack and see what kind of errors you get. If your friend is up to it, get them to try it as well and see what errors they get.
yeah thats exactly what i mean i expected it to take longer but instantly said your change name is ready also got the char with new name on forums right now as u see but still problem ingame

You actually paid Activision money to have them change a line of text above your character? Some Activision dev was probably laughing so hard that they accidentally spilled coffee on the part of the server containing your character data.

He didn’t. Still waiting for support. Super annoying when you can’t even whisper with him, answer whisper will just use the old name and then no char is found. And if he’s logged on this char you can’t even see him online in Battlenet. Only Desktop App shows him online.
So changing your name can really ruin your whole game experience.
thats truly sad i hope some dev see this u pay money and they break ur char maybe they should just remove the service? i don’t know what else to do!
This fixed itself in three days for me. Just give it time. Also: you can get a free name change if you just ask enough people to report you for your name. Even if it isn’t offensive, the process is totally automated so with enough reports you get a free name change.
this is literally happening to me at the moment, my name has changed but not in group finder or chat or stuff. So i cant get into any groups and people can’t whisper me. Its actually ridiculous. Sort it out
