I know, it is super early but I have to say this because TBC was not offered the same deal probably due to vanilla classic showing low numbers: but at end of wotlk, can we keep the servers and if cataclysm launches it will be an optional thing?
I know a lot of people that want to have their characters being stuck in wotlk and not continue with cataclysm. Outside of people I know, there are many pservers stuck in 3.3.5 and people are playing those, it says a lot. I know that pservers can tend to alter their population numbers manually but theres still a lot of people.
Just putting a wish out there early. Those that want to continue with cataclysm, more power to you! But let those play on other servers where they can move their characters over and continue their character development.
Its impressive, i do give Blizzard’s fault at some of the things that have been negative both on retail and classic versions of the game but this community is so rushed about things or narrow minded about simply enjoying the journey.
WOTLK classic has been out for not even 1 week and people are already discussing either Cataclysm classic or servers for Wrath only…i always thought that being a gamer or one of those nostalgic classic players or fans is about enjoying both the games and WoW for what they are, an adventure.
I think that we on this community are so busy thinking about the future than actually savoring the moment. The lack of logic is mind-blowing as for example people mad that they get camped or ganked on PvP servers…logic.
WotLK is in my view the perfect intersection between old soul and the smoother, newer, gameplay loops & mechanics. I think it would be nice to have an evergreen WotLK service. They could go seasonal with it, and every second year wipe the server and restart with some various boosts, tweaks, themes, etc. Maybe allow us to freely export out our characters to retail before the wipe.
I get your point but anyone who has been a gamer in Blizz games knows how poorly they are with communication.
Regarding the surveys I didn’t know they were done or what they included as I didn’t receive any. Imagine how better and accurate data they would get if they sent it yo everyone. The more tests responded to the higher accuracy.
I have a hearty dislike of Cata due to how it ruined the world, as well as its leveling changes, so yeah I’d appreciate being given a choice to not progress my characters to Cataclassic (obviously assuming that it will be a thing). If not, I will delete all my characters not on a “forever classic” server as I have no intention of subjecting myself to the old world remake.
