Do you think there will be a server or a game version that will only remain WotLk forever?
I mean, no cata afterwards, nothing just pure WotLk servers.
I’d gladly start playing the heck outta Wotlk but I want to take it slow pace, take my time and not lose all my progress and everything I’d have had done in 2 years due to server going Cata.
I 'd just like to play WotLk only without having to deal with bugs that are on private servers… Not a fan of that and I do not mind subscription.
I think there will be enough people who want at least one permanent Wrath server running, if not more.
If we look at pservers that seem to last with a decent enough population, it’s always Vanilla and Wrath, so I guess it’ll be something similar for the official servers.
Let’s put it this way, if there isn’t I’ll be cancelling my sub faster than the speed of a light.
Nobody knows what’s going to happen, and it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Blizzard stay true to form and just force everyone into mandatory Cataclysm ‘upgrade’, and nobody gets a say in the matter.
All I have to rely on is the hope that someone out there will see sense and not go down that path - but I’m not holding my breath.
According to people like you, not having every Classic Era realm as a huge megaserver packed to the brim with umpteen trillion players swarming every zone like locusts makes it a ‘flop’.
Except a decent number of people are still playing Classic Era and enjoying it.

I hate todays open world group content because it has literally no reason to be the way it is…
200 players come to a Primalist storm or whatever and you don’t even need to try but tag the mob and thats it. Following 200 players around having your fps drop to 30-40 is absolutely not fun for me. I’d rather just have regular mobs and do it solo bcs I dont see the point in running around like a chicken to get this “super cool” reward.
I think if there will be or not be a WotLK server, we won’t know until at least the CATA announcement. They may still not know, but more likely, they don’t want to dissuade pure WotLK players by letting them know that they will be forced to move to Cata.
I see, so the only reason you even want Cataclysm is to spite people who like a game you hate? How old are you?
In reality you won’t see their faces as they will quit, leaving you with just a handful of miserable people raid logging throughout your precious Cataclysm.
Well, if we get Cata but don’t get permanent WotLK servers and the chance to leave our characters there, they’ll all be deleted. I’m not going to inflict the horrid world redesign on myself. Era will hopefully still exist so it will be more than good enough for me.
