Would that be considered GDKP?

Hey,

We have a guild bank that provides consumables for our raiders.
To help finance the bank, we are considering implementing a vendor-price tax for each piece of loot. When a player wins loot, they must pay the vendor price of the item to the loot master to claim it. For items without a vendor price (e.g., tokens), a fixed fee would apply. This system is cost-neutral, as players can sell the item back to a vendor later to recover the full amount.

We’ve heard stories of people getting banned for small gold trades during raids (e.g., 50g after a death roll).

Do you think this system could be flagged as GDKP?
Is there any risk of a ban?

Thanks!

Is this something that is ONLY for your guild-members?

Or are you gonna invite randoms to your groups? Are you gonna advertise this in the trade chat?

Is the winner decided by a SR sheet? or ms/os roll?

Hey,
100% only guild member.
No random, no ad.
Loot system is SR > MS > OS, we are using gargul to assign loot, so even if someone is solo SR, he has to roll.

It doesnt sound to bad, maybe in an gray area.

But its not advertised as a gold run, which is a good thing. And i doubt your guild-members are gonna report this.

I’m more worried about Blizzard’s automatic GDKP detection system

Blizzard can’t detect bots and gold sellers so why would they detect you playing the game honestly?

I know someone who got banned for GDKP because he won a deathroll during a raid

I highly doubt THATS what got him banned tbh.

Deathrolling isnt, as far as i know, illegal.

Maybe thats what he says, but it sounds weird.

Blizzard does infact detect bots and goldsellers and have banned these respectively for permanent or 6 months in waves, and for “goldsellers” or better speaking “goldbuyers” up to several weeks and the removal of the gold for first infractions. Goldsellers get permanent banned.

Such cases are seen on a daily basis on the US CS forums.

Yes, Death rolling is classified as Gambling (like Casino games are).

However, I doubt the penalty would be a permanent ban for a first-time offence, so nah, it’s not the death rolling itself. But maybe he got traded bought gold and THEN the ban hammer hit.
