Would you agree to remove gearing in low levels?

What many ways are there? Everything scales to your level. Questing, dungeons, all give the same exp. To slow down your exp you have to either pick up herbs and mines for exp, or go outside shadowlands from 50 to 60. And with DF they will cut the leveling for 67%, I am not even sure who needs leveling in that case anyways. If that’s the case, just give people full level chars immediately, and give them some simple tutorials for their class. Low level is not educational anyways, some spells scale down, some scale up, some have no value at all until max lvl.

Sincerely 2-4 weeks to level would stop ppl to level. There was a thread about the will to have agsin 50% buff to level for example.
For me changing weapons and armors isnt that bad… i add everytime some new mog for my 67575676 alts.

They could give the possibility to prolongue lvl exp but i dont know if this is possible. So who want a loooooong lev exp could have it (not me anyway)

Ppl forget what playing a game is. Especially an mmo. These days all ppl care ONLY about loot. An mmo is about social experiance and having fun in the game. Todays ppl what call social is for ex " hi" when you start the dungeon and at the end “crap no loot again” we used to run doing quests and in order to complete that SIMPLE quest we needed help. Enter social… Not casting 1-2 fire balls etc and quest done. Now you lvl in 1-2 days what used to take 1-2 weeks when exp came. We had large pvp battlegrounds like wintergrasp or ashran. Pls tell me what social has left in the game and what activities to do. This is not an mmo anymore. Its a race to Who finish the raid first and when this done game over… Which mean 1-2 week burn out farming gear in m+ and after max 1 month game over. Break till next patch. Thats not mmo and that is why ppl have left the game. One Last thing. From the numbers you see now “playing” the game actual real players are less than half. And that is a fact. Rest are Auction house (few) but the largest number are multiboxers endlessly farming and boosters. Just imagine how many chars boosters have in order to do a run every 30 Min and they are 7-8 boosting 2-3 and multiboxers is 1 person having atleast 10 accounts. So for every 1 million players 1/5 are actual players playing the game

probably after playin 16 years many players dont want to repeat for the 10000th time the levelling experience. This game is OLD.
But about one thing i agree with you: “this game is no more a mmo but justa race”.

a plea: please if it is possible use paragraphs… its really painful to read a wall of text like this.

Your point maybe helps for players who already play for years but those wont help new players they will just be overwhelmed with many ability’s and talents not to forget the many toxic people who yell and scold you if you make on mistake this wont be a fun experience then at all… so no thank you leave it the way it is so people can ease themselves into a character

One issue.

They make levelling take uptoo a month to manage, and the level boost would become considered p2w.

No, in a game where there is a cash bought level boost levelling should never be time consuming nor difficult. It will murder the intergrity of the game in alot of players eyes and would push the p2w screeching to become louder.

You → :door: .
Watch you back on the way out

I was one off those players.
I used boosts to level up my 5 characters.

Leveling in WoW is and always was a horrible thing.

Fyi.
Your “Statistics” only look at the amount of players.
Not the “leveling” players.

Wotlk had good end-game content and was alt-friendly. That’s why it was popular.

On the other hand I enjoy levelling. I like getting to know my character and how their class plays.
I levelled my first character (a paladin) with my friend (a mage). We played a couple of hours most nights and it took us nearly a year to hit 60. Admittedly that was our first ever characters so we were exploring and doing side quests … I probably wouldn’t want to take that long again but it was such a wonderful start to a completely new type of game for me and to understanding it.

just to clarify… you want 2-4 weeks for 1-60 or 50-60? The tiring thing now is to to level a new from 1-60 for old players that is that have seen the content many many many times.

Character boost is not p2w that is called quality of life purchase. its in most games now.

Im not after either,

The OP is asking that in her statement.

And while yes it is a QoL item, if you make levellling a character longer espically by that level alot of people will feel forced into buying boosts.

Agreed.

Also Alot of people also miss out the detail that.

Ffxiv allows one char to be all classes, so you never repeat that story and levelling is passively accelerated by buffs given to the classes which are lower then ur highest level.

Ffxiv also only charges £18 for a boost which is never wasted because you can roll all classes on a singular character snd dont have to reroll a entire character.

Due to that mechanic, ffxiv levelling and story csn be longer.

Leveling a fresh character always takes longer. But if you think that NOW takes long you should see how much it used to take…
A casual player needed 1-2 weeks to level a character for the expansion release. that is 10 levels. not 2 days it takes now. now days tou can level a fresh character in HOURS

Ive played since vanilla, i know it used to take alot longer.

But the game also didnt have a level boost in it at that time also the game being alot newer ment i had done it quite so many times

It also didn’t have the Token back then. whats your point?

Also another issue regarding 2-4 weeks leveling is:

Based on what metrics? Playtime?
14 to 28 days /played? Are you straight up insane?

It took me 10 days /played to reach 60 on my paladin in Classic without a planned route nor prior knowledge/guides.

So that would probably put me on the average end of the spectrum.

Or, you are saying 2-4 weeks real life? And if that is the case, based on what average metrics?

3 hours a day for 4 weeks?
That is just 3.5 days /played and is still a crapton of time.

Especially in a game old as WoW where the pop is already ahead of you.

My point is.

If the levelling process was 4 weeks long. Then buying a level boost would be p2w.

P2w features are, buying items which arent accessible in game or bypass a significant grind in the game.

4 weeks is a significant grind so would be deemed to be a soft p2w feature.

Where

If the game takes 6 months to level, without a bypass, it is acceptable based on the fact the grind is a accounted for as part of thr game

It would be considered in company interest to make the experience awful or repeatitive to upsell a paid feature, which extending the levelling process by thst wide would be considered exactly that.

“Trying to force transactional purchases”.

People screech p2w and quit everytime this gsmes levelling process is made longer, people got mad AF when dungeons got harder and they rescaled them back in legion.

Touching it again is a mine field in terms to reactions.

The same as.

The token caused the game to be p2w in the last patch of BFA with corruptions on BoEs, rspically the fact the WF race was litteral bought on the back of this.

And at the start of SL given the fact people used the token to bypass the gold grinds for legendary pieces when they were priced ridiculously

When systems such as the token and levelling posts exist, they have to tread carefully with how they deal with the systems they bypass.

Leveling just takes as long as a player wants it to.

Some hate it and buy a boost, others level fast by spamming dungeons.

Others do quests, others read the quest texts to get a sense that their character is doing what little good they can to contribute to the world.

Those who do quests usually combine those quests with exploring.

We can’t set leveling so that it only takes a certain amount of time for the simple reason that people play at different speeds.

I have a level 11 character that I have reguarly played over the past 2 months, because I’m just running around exploring zones on it, find a relaxing place to sit and play with the Jewelcraft toy. This character has more /played than a character I used a boost on.

As i said it takes a few hours to level a fresh character. now on the token side i agree. its bad and should be removed. Now with AH merge that became region prices are extremly low and should be removed but sadly it will not. new ppl want it all. Game to be easy not complicated etc. Every 1 want to do it fast without any use of brain. The old days we didn’t even had help from sites like wowhead or even addons that exist these days to help and they don’t even care to check sites for info for something. One very small example is what new ppl do when you try to summon zatolin. they just want the rare and don’t bother about anything else

:face_with_monocle:

50 to 60 would like a word with you.
