Would you enjoy secondary weapons?

Would you enjoy secondary weapons being brought back?

I kinda would to be honest.

Throwing knives for rogue, libram for paladin, wand for mage etc…

1 unique secondary weapon for each class. They could also add some unique effects to them, kinda like trinkets but specific for 1 class.

Yes, I’d like that. Could be used as a PVP class bonus, f.e. reduces the CD of disengage by 5sec

As a Hunter, certainly.

They got removed to simplify the game, kinda miss them… added flavour.

You mean another item to farm and another button to press? I’m not saying it’s a bad idea - I don’t have an opinion either way - but that’s what it amounts to, isn’t it?

They just added flavour to a spec, either added damage or an effect to an ability … no extra button, just 1 more item to aim for. No harm in that. That’s for the libram/idol/totem type thing, ranged weap on warrior/rogue only added secondary stats so :man_shrugging:t2:

Well, they got removed cause of mainly being boring. A simple stat stick for most specs.

For shaman, palas, druids (totems, librams, idols),they were interesting when providing a unique effect, but this led to other problems.
Designing multiple unique items for a class/spec each tier, that also had to be balanced so that u had an upgrade each tier.

Frankly in some kind of system those would be interesting, like each class having their own. Instead of only having idols, totems, librams, we could also have quivers (hunters), banners (warriors), phylacteries (dks), tomes (mages), contracts (warlocks), throwing knives (rogues), symbols (priests), orbs (evokers), beads (monks), magic tattoos (dhs).
But as to what that system would be, maybe a glyph like system or something like heart of azeroth (that could be extended to multiple expansions and work alongside talents). Just don’t think they would work like regular drops form dungeons/bosses/pvp, it would lead to too much bloat.

also my biggest sorrow here

If they want to simplify the game, maybe bring button bloat down. When I have 36 keybinds and it’s not enough for my regular, ordinary, dungeon and raid days… that is a few too many.

Less buttons, more gear.

Obvious example is make pistols exist for outlaw rogues. They don’t actually have to be a drop that eats into other classes’ slots (warglaives…) but we could have basic crafted choices with different visuals, and each gives a different secondary stat or effect (e.g. small enemy slow, increase target casting time by 20%). Also warriors’ throw skills; let them pick their throwing weapon, etc.

Used to pull far away pack to LOS but you are correct with all the other things just basic stats or procs

I always thought it was a bad idea to remove them

Except wands arent used to attack anymore they’ll just be extra stat sticks. Heroic Throw replaced the need for ranged weapons on warriors. And what about hunters, is the ranged slot back? Do hunters have a minimum range again?

No, not this. I have somewhere in excess of 40 keybinds on my feral main, and I have no complaints.

some of them were kinda good for the class fantasy like librams etc. but warriors having a gun/bow with almost no use was weird

I don’t miss them tbh.

I kinda miss not having a set of one-handed weapons equipped besides my ranged weapon.
I don’t miss the ‘dead zone’ though; which forced you to melee.

I have many collected appearances for melee weapons - because that’s a relic from the old vanilla system still left in the game: Hunters can collect every type of weapon except maces. Which in today’s game really doesn’t make any sense; so let us equip a set. If they’re stat sticks; that’s fine.

I want to look cool having drawn my melee weapons again like I used to be able to do! Yep, it’s all about style.

As for quivers: Yes. Ammo too; just make it go in the quiver and stack up to insane amounts, so it’s never going to be a ‘bagspace’ thing. I loved having different types of ammo with different qualities and its own little effects.
