WoW account banned for hacking

Hello. As you understand from the title my account got banned for hacking.
In email i received it is stated that i was using hacks etc., but i never used any of them.
I really dont understand what happened and it looks like a big mistake for me.
The only reason i may see is that my toon (20 lvl warlock) is using shadowland gems (which give movement speed) and also i was using talent burning rush, which gives at 20 level total of 228% movement speed combined with shadowland gems. Also i was clearing dungeon on my main toon (70 lvl druid) for this warlock and then i was logging in as warlock to kill last boss of the dungeon. I think this is not hacking too in my understanding.
But it is not hack in my understanding - this is game mechanics which are available for everyone (you can buy gems at ah and you can use your talents, am i right or am i wrong?).
I already made ticket but it is very embarrassing to get so old account getting banned because of false anticheat trigger (because i see no more reason why this might have happened).

I was also banned yesterday for the exact same reason. I’m incredibly frustrated with Blizzard’s lack of diligence in this matter. While cheating is a serious offense and SHOULD result in ban it is also absolutely unacceptable to penalize players without a thorough investigation, especially when the accusations are baseless such as this. This is my 15 year old account.
Anyway, I’ve already submitted a ticket and am currently waiting for a reply.

Same for me, this account is 15 years old and i never used any programs to cheat because i understand that i might be banned and i dont want to do so to account which i invested so many years.

My second account also got banned yesterday. its my first ban ever. Explanation given was “cheating/hacking”. Since there is no date, it seems to be permanent.

I was running my timewalking fury alt on this account. It is my only explanation for the ban, but until now it was never a bannable offense to use timewalking alts.

Only got an automated response so far. Very dissapointed about the whole situation.

It really looks like we got banned by automated ban system. And yeah, i got permanent ban too :frowning:

Yes, exactly. Blizzard seems to just casually ban accounts like it’s nothing. I was talking to another player in-game the other day, and when he said something as mild as “no sh*t,” a link to report him popped up immediately. What’s with that? This whole DEI thing has gone overboard. I mean, they’ve even removed the /spit macro from the game. You literally can’t use it anymore, all because of concerns about offending someone. It’s ridiculous!

Same, yesterday I received an email saying that I got banned for “Unauthorized Cheat Programs (Hacks)”. All I did yesterday similarly, run my fury twink dungeons for gear. Do they really think I would cheat in the game where I’ve played over 6000 hours and spent quite a lot of money in it?

The most interesting part is that it is not bannable to boost your low level toon with help of your high level until you dont use macros to automate it! And i wasnt using them and im sure you all were not doing so too.

Yep exactly, I just kept switching WoW windows between my lvl 70 monk alt and my lvl 11 fury warrior. Warrior was following the higher lvl alt monk which was clearing house. Yesterday I didn’t much need to do that anyway, since I got about 5 pieces of gear which I enchanted and added gems, so it started to solo dungeons

Fun part is that i didnt even use 2 toons at the same time. I just invited my main+low level toon (which are on the same account) via my second paid account and then i was clearing dungeon as high level except the boss my low level toon needed, then logging out and entering dungeon as 20 lvl toon. So i wasnt running 2 wow windows at the same time! It is so strange tbh.

Running 2 WoW windows at the same time is fine, but yeah kind of lame that after paying sub for my high lvl alt to help out my lower lvl, my main gets banned while my alt didn’t.
The odd part is that they say “Our decision to close the account was made after a thorough review of relevant evidence”. I highly doubt they have any evidence of sort where I was cheating. Honestly the closest thing I could think is that they banned me falsely for speed, after equipping shadowlands speed gems and also equipping minor increase to boots enchant bringing my speed up to 189% with War Machine buff.

Well, i didn’t do any of those. I was just doing timewalking dungeon on my twink, admittedly obliterating the place, but thats it. Right after engaging the last boss the screen froze for a second and then i got disconnected and got the " Account Closure Notification" on my email. I opened a ticket immediately and its been 9 hours now and no response yet. Its my day off. Someone at Blizzard should be fired for this seriously!

Sure it was just automated answer  Ye, i thought about speed first as the main reason. But it is accesible to everyone in this game and you cant get banned just because you use items and talents which everyone can use.
Heliodor, do you have high movement speed on your character too?

This is crazy?? They dont want us to play the game? Hello we pay you every month, how about some respect for the costumers. Your avarage wow player is 30+ years old. If you perma ban a 15+ year old account there is very little chance that player will ever come back to wow.

But then again you might just do them a favor?

Maybe this is what can finally make us all quit this game.

Guess I got lucky that I was replied in only 4 hours then . And the reply they gave me still felt like it was automated by a bot: “This action has been taken in accordance with our Terms of Use and our In-game Policies, which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to playing. These policies and conditions allow us to maintain a fun and safe game environment for all of our players.” Making it seem all my fault. Like no kidding, I agree to their rules, even if I haven’t read their terms 100% through. but it is still Very ridiculous for them to ban me for cheating without any proper explanation or proof which they probably won’t do. That’s what I get I guess for paying yearly Wow subscription and occasionally getting Wow tokens since I’m lazy to farm gold or do professions. If they’re gonna be stubborn and keep me banned, then I am literally out of Blizzard games to play, since Overwatch has also turned to… whatever it is nowadays.

Upon doing some research, it would seem that many more people with twinks have been autobanned for no reason (or false reason). Like, many Many more and during the similar times. So hopefully blizzard will see that is an actual issue, and some actual humans respond to our posts/tickets

I just checked reddit and even one 80 character encountered this problem when he was helping his friend to gear.

My accounts were banned for this reason, and I have already opened a ticket.
WoW1, which I was playing with, and WoW3, which my friend was playing with.
