I play WoW Classic exclusively.
Since yesterday (Dec 09) I am having problems launching the client. When I press PLAY on the “Battle Net launcher” to launch WoW Classic, nothing happens.
Initially, I was able to sidestep the issue by selecting “CLASSIC ERA” instead of “ANNIVERSARY REALMS”. When that stopped working, I found that I could launch the client by adding the command line parameter “-windowed”. Eventually, this stopped working too yesterday after I updated the “Battle Net Launcher” to the latest version.
I am now in a position where in order to launch the client I have got to perform a “SCAN AND REPAIR” and download a 59MB update. When this is done, I am able to launch the client but when I shut down the client for any reason, I am unable to relaunch it unless if I “SCAN AND REPAIR”.
From my vantage point, it seems the WoW Classic Client gets corrupt everytime I launch, play or shut down the client.

*********UPD: The issue appears to have been resolved by itself.
Because I did nothing to fix it, it appears this was a server-side issue.
