I love how the people whining about lack of pvp servers are like 99% Horde players. Who in their right mind would choose one as Alliance? I can only see premade groups and people interested in twinking going there.
Proper world PVP is one of the pillars that differentiate Classic from retail. I’m not too good at PVP, but I would not deny myself such a big portion of the game… even though I roll ally main in classic as I did in vanilla.
Deffinatly not enough English PvP servers. Its going to push non role-players onto the RP-PVP realm and defeat the point.
This is gonna kill classic if they dont add more. Mark my words.
ROFL you are concerned about RP servers
We’re all here:
I bet postponed reserve name date and launch of more realms in next 2-3 days. 20 August a week before release looks way better to reserve name then this 13 August. Imo
It is all about money. Probably the activision/blizzard shareholders/big bosses did not give green light for more servers. More servers = More Maintenance + paid jobs, (many of them outside of US legislation). Devs probably asked for more, but without solid numbers, the answer must have been a big no no. Even the US number of servers are very conservative, not to mention the germans.
Everyone is mentioning the spanish community and trying to guess which of the two pvp servers they will hit, forgeting about the italian community, probably larger and very active too.
Blizz should step up and at least give some info about their intentions. Silence and the hope for the best could put them in big trouble, there are many many players giving with classic, the last chance to Blizzard.
In gaming industry more and more, the name of producer/distributor counts, when the time for the last click arrives.
Italian community is not more bigger than Spain community.
And the Spanish community will go to the two servers, a server that will go streamers and another the rest of the community.
I don’t think on release will be much worse, the stress test is worldwide. On Release cut the high que you saw in the stress test by half, maybe more as NA going on their region. Now left numbers to divide by the number of servers in EU and then imagine the final que.
More PVP servers for English speaking players Blizzard. Also change those god damn awful names. Fire the person responsible for choosing those names. Yikes.
The names are kind of horrible, yes. Though all else being equal, I can live with them.
I agree with you that that does not seem like a lot of servers. I hope they will have some backups ready.
What? Two PvP servers, you crazy? And I’m sorry but, terrible names really.
I haven’t seen anyone comment on the PVE server names which will be 2nd in line.
Seriously? Pyrewood Village? Mirage Raceway?
With all seriousness, did you imagine classic team deciding on these names then go “this sounds cool” or “very solid” clap clap.
I can make my peace with the small number of servers. These can increase with demand but to be labelled on such server names especially at launch when nothing else is available “come and join our guild, we are on Mirage Raceway” then maybe new cool server names get added if demand increases and we’d be crying out for being doomed to join the servers at launch.
Terrible name, forcing Horde affinity onto all of the players with only a single realm available for the whole of EU is a vile and wickedly ugly deed. Blizzard literally spits at us. US RP-PVP name is much better (Grobbulus). Neutral+one word+gives off a vibe. Zandalars are quite repugnant indeed but that’s not the point.
x: Hey, are you going to play Classic WoW?
y: haha hello I’ll be playin on zandalar tribe duh muh alliance
My god, how terrible it is. Disgusting cringe torture. Complete disregard for ~50% of the player base. RPers possibly are the most sensitive people in the world, consider that.
How’s that going to work, if probably 90% or more of playerbase will start in the first 2 days? Many will join with a pre-formed guild, or with friends to find that servers are overcrowded and with no prespective to regress to lets say 5/6k, the limit imo to a server, without loose the vanilla sense of community.
Who will be the first to abandon the ship, migrating to a new and unpredictable server? The migration will be free of costs? Layering will be removed from all servers at the same time, regardless a server has a pop of 30k or 2k? How name reservation will apply to new servers? In case of overpopulated servers, how long will take untill the new ones, (if that is what is planned), be online, 1/2/5/10/30/60 days?
We are talking about a game/hobby that will be played mostly by +25yo players, (Blizzard know it), where many pretend to invest thousands of hours, conciliating it with marriages/jobs/careers/children other hobbies etc… The lack of information is understandable, the company is playing defense as it should, but everything has a limit…
The ability to sign up for realms 2 weeks early might not only be to squeeze 2 weeks more subscription out of people. It could also be to get a feel for how many servers are needed. If 40k people are trying to reserve names on the 2 PVP servers that can hold 20k people, Blizz might decide to launch a few extra servers last minute. ( Though 10k pr server, is 10k at any given time, not 10k in total). If not, they will see the trend in the first few weeks and 1-2 months to see if more realms are needed and if so wich type.
Everyone calm down will ya??
It’s exact same experience like original classic. Just remember original classic game launch and how many servers they needed?
These names are terrible, but I’ll take it!
