WoW Classic: The Joyous Journeys 50% Experience Buff Returns

Its great u adding it, it should be a reccuring event, maybe not neccesary entire month but u can do journey weekends and holidays when ppl are free and can take adventage of this buff

I think the best thing I can do is just flatly refuse to play for that month. Iā€™ll have to log in on my main once-per-week as I have commitments, but other than that Iā€™ll go focus on something else until this is removed.

Tell me about it. I already planned to quit at the end of Wrath with all the changes, but itā€™s getting sped up with this buff being added again.

Tell me you never played TBC/WOTLK retail without telling me you never played TBC/WOTLK retail.

The whole point that RDF was introduced later as an argument to not include it at all in wotlk is nonsense, since its impossible to draw a line which features/changes to include and which not. With the same reasoning we could have 60% speed flying mounts still, since the mount changes were made 3-4 months before RDF release.

Saying RDF was not part of wotlk is like saying battlegrounds were not part of vanilla or LFR was not part of cataclysm. Its not a good argument.

The only reason this argument is repeated, is because some people simply dont like RDF, but for completely different reasons. The argument that it shouldnt be added at all throughout the expansion because it wasnt present at release is, as said, nonsense and a fake argument at best.

Never seeing another living soul whilst levelling is the strongest anti RDF argument you can think of?

An argument against a system that matches you up with other living human beings to play content with in a video game from 15 years ago which was also present at the time?

Walk me through how thatā€™s supposed to work, will you?

There are a lot fewer players these days thus a lot fewer levellers. Particularly when we know how sweet it is with RDF in the game.

Personally, I accepted TBC without RDF cause RDF wasnā€™t in TBC proper and that would go against the spirit of classic.

Which is funnily also why Iā€™m opposed to itā€™s absence in WotLK Classic and the addition of junk like heroic+.

ā€œLazy peopleā€.

Itā€™s a freaking game dude. You donā€™t get merits for doing your chores or sweeping the floor, at best what you get is fun.

Good lord you drama queen, just turn it off at any innkeeper in the game. Jeez.

No need. I can tell you that straight. I havenā€™t played them. Which isnā€™t even a point because Iā€™m speaking about now. The majority of the world is barren. Leveling zones are mostly empty because people donā€™t level their alts and when they do they opt out of social interactions in favor of efficiency.

How can you even write that with a straight face?

Classic servers are 4-20x times larger than TBC/WOTLK full realms. Even with layers they are totally packed compared to how it was back then. You had like 100 realms to pick from back then.

You obviously did not player TBC/Wotlk retail and have no idea what you are talking about. You are obviously comparting Classic with some private server and not how the actual WOTLK experience was back then. Granted, itā€™s weird that private servers offer a much better experience compared to Classic, but Classic is by FAAAAAAAAAAAR more active than WOTLK retail realms.

Donā€™t bother with that guy, heā€™s a longterm troll on these forums. Thereā€™s a few peaking their heads again recently.

I didnā€™t say servers, I said fewer players.

I know youā€™re on Thekal and all so you donā€™t feel it, but low level zones are dead.

You have absolutely no grasp on what the majority of players feel like.

I absolutely did, but youā€™d never believe that cause that wouldnā€™t fit your narrative at all.

Want me to log on retail and link my Shadowmourne achievement from the time or what?

While the quality of the arguments is very low, there is basically no difference to what non trolls state. Therefore its nearly impossible to distinguish a troll from the usual mental acrobat or even Blizzards statements. The main post concerning RDF from Blizzard still includes that it was introduced in 3.3.5, which is factually wrong, since it was released in 3.3.0, almost 7 months earlier. Since even Blizzard states complete nonsense and cannot get their facts remotely right, that one might think they are trolling us, how can we tell real trolls apart from people believing and typing nonsense with a straight face?

I think thatā€™s a big issue with most people, theyā€™re eager to seek argument/debate and to try and get into a pointless back and forth. These are feedback forums, but itā€™s fairly easy to see trolls after youā€™ve seen their posts over a period of time. Thereā€™s two I know of over a long period in this thread as their replies are hidden from me from blocking them. But it is sometimes nearly impossible as you say with what some complain about.

Truer words were never spoken.

From both sides, and thatā€™s nothing new.

We all have our stronger points and we both have our lower.

SO I checked Erathshaker real quick.

Westfall 15 levelers.
Redridge 10 levelers.
Darkshore 9 levelers.

Deadmines 1 group running right now.

Borean Thundra 23 levelers
Howling Fjord 30+ levelers

Nexus 3 groups running right now.

This is more active than on Thekal.

Your realm is WAY more active than any Wotlk retail realm where. Every zone I check is full of people leveling right now.

If you actually believe that your realm, Earthshaker Alliance, a full realm with tens of thousands of players, are dead and no one is leveling, then you are totally delusional. You just can not accept any fact of reality that doesnā€™t fit your agenda.

At 20:06 - 20:10.

19 alliance level appropriate people in Westfall on Thekal, 19 on Earthshaker.

13 alliance level appropriate people in Redridge on Thekal, 10 on Earthshaker.

13 alliance level appropriate people in Darkshore on Thekal, 9 on Earthshaker.

Earthshaker is a mono faction server. Thekal is more or less balanced.

So yes, Earthshaker has the same amount of levellers as half of Thekal.

This is clarification for the discussion between you and Jeynar.

RDF came with ICC patch, not with Cata prepatch.

You can Google it if you donā€™t believe it.

RDF was purely Wotlk feature, it was very good especially for alt leveling.

And of course it was a big relief for the low pop realms.

We both know this, heā€™s just ignoring that the ICC patch lasted nearly half of the entirety of WotLK cause it doesnā€™t suit his narrative.

(Is it necessary to keep going in so many circles about RDF here?)

Seeing this thread earlier today, I had just two thoughtsā€¦

  • Iā€™m not sure this is necessary, but assuming it can be toggled off, no problem.
(If you donā€™t want to outlevel zones.)
  • Iā€™m not sure this is actually a good approach.
If someone didnā€™t make it to 80 yet, there is a good reason: no time, massive focus on alts, not being happy anyway (RDF) or trying to stay away for some reason.
I just donā€™t think this buff is going to help any of these groups.
There are further target audiences, mostly endgame focused people who are done by now, sure, letā€™s give them a semi-boost, so that they can level. My only worry being, it may not mesh well with other people with a more relaxed attitude. I still have nightmares recalling my attempt at tanking Ramparts about two weeks ago. (Not really, figure of speech. But I wonā€™t tank.)
