WoW Classic vs Private Server - Which is more authentic at this point?

The pathfinding,scripting,itemization of pservers where awful from nost,elysium up to lh…never was on kronos.But lets be real here they where stats wise just awful,and lags plus farmers where annoying as hell to deal with.

Classic is not like Vanila was back then but it is it’s own thing.I am at this point just glad to play the game that was always the point.I really do not care we have 1.12. stats.As long as they remove layering.

So many little things are different in classic, in a good way, like quests and mob immunities. But layering really is a game changer , its a whole new meta and as a result the whole game is different. I had a slightly better experience in the popular vanilla private servers.
Also releasing the honor system in p2 and bgs in p3 is a bad idea.

layering is just awful experience. Not to mention exploiting, layering fully destroyed realm integrity and the spirit of MMO. I do not have that mentality like “layering is soo useful right now, without it you would not be able to kill a single mob cuz of soo much ppl”. And you know what? I would be happy If I need to fight and wait 75 hours to kill a damned single mob for quest. And you know why? Because every one soul on my realm is ought to do the same. No exception. I wanna help Thrall not dying, not hear from my friend that Thrall is dead when I am sitting right next to living Thrall on the same realm. Plz

I’ve played through all content and killed all bosses + made a countless number of alts on private servers. I never played actual vanilla. I’ve mostly mained a holy priest and it’s what I main in classic aswell.

The way I see it, I find that trash mobs hit for way less in dungeons. They have more “mechanics” but them not hitting very hard makes it really, really easy for me to heal. On p-servers I rarely had time to wand things as I was busy focusing on healing and it also messed with my globals. In Classic I’m wanding 80% of the time even though the tank is AoE pulling. My spirit regen is through the roof aswell so I rarely have to drink. Meanwhile, on p-servers I had to take quick drinks between pulls and also be more careful with my mana usage. I couldn’t rely on spirit as much. Global CDs also worked differently. In classic I can cast heal followed by renew in the same global. On p-servers they had separate globals which meant 1.5 seconds longer until I would start getting my mana regen back. It sounds pretty minor but it’s actually pretty big.

And then there are some other “minor” things that I’ve noticed that makes p-servers harder. Mobs running away on p-servers would pull more mobs instantly. In classic they sort of idle for 2 seconds before their friends come running.

Certain addons such as Weak Auras and TSM make it feel a lot like cheating too.

Honestly, it has been quite underwhelming and if it’s true that classic is the more accurate version I hope they intentionally make it harder so that it fits the skills of an average player in 2019 rather than one in 2005.

Are you sure ? Every single time there was a fresh, it was a sh*tstorm, drops etc. and that was only 5-15k people. Dont be so naive that PS could handle so many players. Kek.

You should have chosen different server, but no. I had waited for 2 days, than chose a suitable realm with no queues. Now it has healthy high to full population and no queues.

yeah, this … but who cares, some players would like to see the world burn, just because they can. on the other hand, its not a race and if you envy them, join them, but firstly you should enjoy your time playin the game.

PS: I wonder how would the game looked like withou layering and queues regulation. … it would be imposible with such an amount of players …

0 Meter blinks…
(layering- at least i can live with that)

But due to the first 2 mentioned, p-server gameplay felt way more fluent than this mess atm…
