It’s already going to be turning point with many things related PvP which we have waited fix on situation they created on rated PvP since dragonflight expansion so over 3 years and counting. Theres issues with que times and designs that wont be sustainable for much longer and now they remove addons and make it harder for healers and casters and the gameplay is still forced into soloqs with pugs where we cant communicate. If this all were for consoles in mind I wont like it either and I doubt I’m alone.
I remember Ion said important changes to PvP were coming, have they announced anything yet? I haven’t been keeping up with the news very much.
It would be good, it’s either next exp or never I feel like. I still play the game from pc with keyboard and mouse so I dont benefit nothing from any improvements they make with consoles in mind anyways. They take my addons and prune my classes spells, which neither are changes I wanted on such scale that everything becomes too simplified, I want something from the expansion aswell.
Game Pass PC only plan costs $16.49/month. That is higher than a WoW subscription of any kind right now.
Can you all read the article before commenting, this is just embarrassing.
Explains the higher focus on solo content and heroic world tier, gotta give these players something to do, since in groups they’re not gonna have a good time, unless they group together. And here I thought it was Blizz throwing existing casuals a bone, it was always about more money.
That blizzard has been bullsh.iting us this whole time. That’s what’s wrong…
Addon purge to make the game “more approachable”… bunch of BS. They do that because you cannot install addons on an Xbox.
Class simplification to make the game “mor approachable”… bunch of BS. They do that so you wan play wow with 5 buttons on a controller.
OBA? That’s for the controllers…
So much BS disguised as “for the player” when in reality it’s for Microsoft Overlords…
Are they wrong about this though? It does make the game more approachable.
I said previously, the game isn’t going to survive on just their current dwindling playerbase, as much as I’d love it to. Drastic changes need to be made, and they need to go back to the basics, and rebuild from there imo.
Obviously, not everyone is gonna be happy about this, because it’s a gigantic change, and may alienate certain people. Especially those who’re doing higher end content and love complexity. That’s not the say the game can’t be complex without the need for 30 different keybinds though. Other games have proved that you don’t need that amount of binds to keep skill expression.
So true. I think the cloaking of this as doing it for the “good of the game” is more upsetting then the fact itself. “Oh hey we’re doing this for you, really”, and they’re not.
And couldn’t they just have made the game with separate servers for console? Why does the existing playerbase have to bend their playstyle so the game can be played on console? Couldn’t they have left WoW as is for us and then tweaked a version that works for console?
I find the way they are going about this really disrespectful to the players who have stuck with this game through the years.
It is a glorified pc. You will play with a controller on that device.
So yes, controller players are coming to WoW. And I hope I can see who plays on a controller and who plays with a mouse and keyboard. Controller players are horrible at the game.
Yeah, that’s my feeling as well. They’ve clearly lied to us both about the scale of the changes, and about the rate at which they would be happening, and claiming they’re for “the benefit of players” is just insulting.
Cheers.
I haven’t owned a console since I had a Gamecube and PS2. Two consoles I hardly played and I basically just used my PS2 to watch stuff on my tv from my pc back then. Point is… I’m not a console gamer. ![]()
Why don’t they just make a console version of wow. its not like they are not making 50 parallel versions already. Such talentless greed.
Next to the chopping block will be mouse support. Blizzard wants an even playing field which means they will cut down the input devices offering most advantage; which is computer mouse. Maybe they will allow mouse play in open world but they can’t really allow it in M+, raids and pvp.
We are all gonna be controller players. We won’t have a choice.
You can plug a keyboard and mouse into most consoles including xbox.
But I think the key reason why people want to use a console is they want to play games while relaxing on the couch, which makes using a keyboard and mouse difficult… and getting set up to use them removes some of the benefit of being on the couch in the first place.
Then you need a lapdesk or couchmaster xD
However I’m sticking with PC.
Hear hear.
They plan to release next gen console which will able to run battle.net and ect., thus WoW and many other pc games.
So WoW coming to console is “technically” true, whats wrong?
