I think WoW also struggles with the fact that the players grow older as the game does. We change. I’m not the same teenager i was 15 years ago, and i wouldn’t be able to keep playing WoW if WoW hadn’t evolved to accommodate a more grown up person.
Times change.
Did you miss the part where he says that the biggest problem was that the players fought against a more guild/social group oriented design!?
Community got what it asked for.
i heard that he wants more drama then actual game story or lore.
I want more lore, that’s what makes this game interesting for me.
I think what he meant is there’s too much focus on big characters and too little focus on small stories. I agree with him.
Well there we very much disagree I’m sorry.
But here you see how you better not listen to “the community”
I would be highly disappointed if the next WoW expansion would add even more “Varyan” “Kevins” “Justins” Kings that look like from the Backstreet Boys. Thats truly the most offputting stuff
Blizzard sticking to their roots like they did in the beginning is all well and good but wasnt that part of the reason they needed to be bought over/merged???
Was it that idealology wasnt making them money??? Or was it they say a chance to become bigger and expand their ideology further and do more cool things , then find that big companies dont care about that they just care about profits and shareholders??
If Bliz remained on their own what would they look like today, what would wow look like, would they even still exist???
Blizzard was paired with Activision even during Wrath and most people agree it was a great expansion.
Not everything is Activision’s fault.
oh no some guy no one has even heard of leaves the wow team most likely as a sellout because he got offered a job else where
he actually explained what he meant, don’t need to reinterpret.
or he got fired.
but i would like to say , that having so much grey hairs in such young age, means he faced a lot of stress in his job…
I think you’ll find that the community is split on this to a degree.
I think we moved to far in that direction myself. And there is a more healthy balance between a story mode driven and player driven mode.
Or at least there is a segment of the playerbase that’s not being served well at the moment due to the extreme swing in the design philosophy.
So as part of said segment I agree with him.
Could be genes. I began to get quite a lot of grey hair (and its highly visible) pretty much around when i turned 20 because of genes.
What a crybaby
Wasn’t he the guy who said on Twitter that anxiety over PvP Scaling in BfA was ungrounded? It was the worst mechanic in a long time.
And then the “big PvP surprise” in 8.3, a revamp of DG to add flowers that nobody asked for.
Yea well, not sure if he really tells the whole truth imo.
Edit: fixed a typo.
man thats a really bad take, because even I think about it (and i’m a complete midwit that doesn’t really “think” about anything thats going on on screen)
The PVE “level scaling” itself also feels kinda wrong. Especially 2 years ago where I could solo a whole 30 mobs on a heroic AP-farm island but then immediatly get one shotted by one specific type of mob, even thouh I was warrior tank.
Ofc they are overworked when the top guys decide that they got to break everything each expansion.
It’s pretty obvious the systems team is overworked. I mean just look at it! They’re making a ton of stuff. So much stuff the community doesn’t want most of it because it’s just too much.
The single best change they could do to improve the social aspect of the game would be to remove the faction barrier…
Stop keeping the community split while simultaneously hammering it in that that there are no faction/race barriers in the actual canon.
i dunno about that some people gray early some people go bald in their 20’s and it’s not stress related well
also livia? we used to be able to talk to the alliance but some immature kids ruined it and looking at the horde mentality i’m sure sure even if they removed it would be back up shortly as some people can’t act like adults
When things don’t work just move on , I don’t agree with slamming the door on your way out .
Maybe he’s a good dev good for him , best of luck in his future projects .
