WoW feels boring

The game just feels lifeless and soulless nowadays, what keeps you playing it? For me it was the goal of getting good gear so I could help my friends and other people to get good gear aswell or help them in old raids, nowadays it’s just useless, everything is handed to you on a plate. There is no real need to help anyone, you just play the game, get the gear and that’s it… there is nothing to do with the gear you have.

Before you could for example run normal dungeons for justice points so you could get heirlooms for your alts, nowadays you just buy them. How boring is that? Gear used to be a big factor in how fast you would get those heirloom pieces

Old raids were hard to solo, good gear helped alot.

I play the game because i have fun playing the game, nothing more to it really. Fun doesn’t have to be productive, it can be pointless. I dont need a reason to get good gear, getting gear in itself is fun for me. I dont play games i dont enjoy, that would be pointless to me.

sub with in-game gold when its fun, and only sub a month at a time, dont use Monthly subs

that way you only purchase 30 days game time when its fun, and when it isnt you can let it expire

  • i have 10 days left of my 30day gametime, and i wont be resubbing until 10.2

I play because there’s a tonne of different stuff to do depending on my mood - and also because pressing buttons in wow is super satisfying.

I want a challenge? I can do some M+ or solo Shuffle.

I want to chill with mates? I Raid!

I just want to fill some time with little effort? Make can some gold!

I get that completist urge? Do a mount run or farm some old content transmog!

I want to explore? - continue my loremaster!

I want to get angry at the world? - read about the return of Pathfinder to the game!

Don’t fancy it at all today? Play a different game!

^^ This pretty much

I also love a bit of downtime between seasons where I can play at a more chill pace.

I play to destroy other people, both with my swords in the arena, and with my words on the forums.

I do old achievements, mog farming, mount hunting, pet battles, story lines, side content like Secrets of Azeroth (although I’m stuck on the one in Tyrhold as the mobs there rip me apart - why are all the mobs in the game face roll until they tear you to pieces, no middleground).

Haven’t start professions yet, not sure I will as they seem too convoluted for what I would use them for (mogs mostly).

I used to enjoy gearing back in TBC and Wrath. It was slower but when you got the gear it lasted ages also.
Now we’re on a constant gearing treadmill. I’ve almost got all my gerar upgraded to 424 (only the neck, rings and trinkets to go now) just in time for me to start getting Champion pieces and upgrade all of them by the time 10.2.5 comes when I start upgrading whatever’s next to be done by the time 11.0 comes.

Honestly, I’m on the way out I think.

I’ve been back in WoW for about 5 or 6 years now, and I have seen it change alot.

I was attracted back to the game when I saw the BFA Cinematic. Horde vs Alliance, what an amazing theme. Sylvanas was an amazing and exciting leader so I had to be a horde.

Unfortunately, Blizzard have failed to keep up with that selling point. They killed the excitement, they ruined the very character that brought me back to the game. And now they have ruined the dark tone of the game. We now spend our day stroking dragons, and watching gnomes cuddle up against NPC’s legs.

It was fun to work towards goals and earn rewards. We now get those rewards for logging in once a month and doing a couple of World Quests. The trading post is bad for the game.

And I think one of the biggest downers is the community. On one end it’s extremely toxic, and on the other end its full of a players with no consideration for the game itself. This in itself creates more toxicity.

Most of the toxicity is found on the r/WoW subreddit. But I can certainly see it forming on these forums as well now. Bullying is running rife, you get mass flagged for anything from having your own opinion to making a typo.

And I haven’t even mentioned the actual Game itself yet. Failure to test content before hand, failure to balance dungeons and classes is a huge problem. Yet, for some reason Blizz can find the funds to add new hair colours to Void elves. What an absolutely joke!

I was excited to go on leave last month and get back into playing WoW, but in all honesty it’s been nothing but a big disappointment, and I have been finding myself spending less time playing over the last few weeks.

I’m away again in December, the way I feel right now, I probably won’t bother resubbing when I get back.

This expansion has been the biggest snoozefest since…Well every other expansion was more interesting tbh. Cataclysm was always my least favorite but DF managed to take that spot. So gratz to the developers. Even WoD was more entertaining.

Professions take forever, knowledge point wise. I’m still not done with my alt army

If it feels boring, play something else.
Its what I do, the moment I feel like I’m not having that much fun I just boot up another game.

That’s not me saying stop playing WoW entirely but: don’t play only WoW and take breaks when you need them.

Raiding and dungeoneering is what I did most in the original trilogy, these days with everything becoming a speed run I don’t enjoy it as much. So I only starting doing them later in the expansion when we are more powerful.

I don’t think I ever ran out of reasons to play WoW.
DF will go down as the expansion, I played the most, of all of them.
Too much stuff to do and not enough time to play.
I would probably have to quit my job and go no life mode in order to complete everything the game has to offer.

I know gearing up 25 characters at the same time isn’t helping but I learned my lesson in Vanilla playing Amazoner as main, in TBC playing my Forsaken Priest, in Legion playing my BE Hunter and finally in BFA playing in my UK account a BE Paladin that: playing one character is boring :unamused:

Cheers.

I’d play more chars but so far i haven’t found one outside of sv that i enjoy enough to invest in.

I agree sadly atm… Not sure what it is…

I play like 1-2 evenings a month. Worth the bucks? Probably not. Might pause until the next patch or xpac. It is indeed boring somehow.

Especially I don’t like current Destro & Aff. Never liked new Demo.

All I do is level toons, but since it’s so easy it also feels boring.

Well, at the moment mage tower is pretty much the only thing i’m excited to push my way through, just happened to randomly get interested in it again  Got 4 dps challenges to go, don’t think i’m good enough to finish them before next patch.

I just finish some old reps, farm mogs 1 time per week, check black market and after i go for Battlefield.

Originally, simply the fact that I spent everyday on it.
I took a break because the constant gear chasing was boring, two months later I just wanted to do something mindless and started again for lols.
I just learnt to take monthly breaks and play other things until new content came out or I wanted to go back and do something else.

Doing Loremaster and stuff currently, with some alt ideas popping up now and then (such as eredar warlock) and basically no end game. I’ll get there eventually but I don’t imagine I will do anything past 415 pieces one a week with the dream surges.
I’ve done M+ and Raids in the past and they’re exhausting.
I had a guild but there is always so much drama.

Raiding

Yeah and now you see people crying asking for nerfs to the bfa raids because you cant faceroll them yet.

No… People are asking for nerfs to BFA raids because some bosses are impossible to solo.
