Wow Gear whats the point?

I have a question, why is last season arena gear weaker than current season honor gear and its weaker by a lot. In no expansion before the previous arena gear became weaker than honor gear as the new season comes. Whats the point in playing any season aside from the last. And i know wow gear is never permanent but before you could go from 1 arena gear season to another with out having to get the honor in between. Basically the whole progress in s1 has been deleted entierly. A fresh level 70 that did a few bgs while leveling will have better gear than people who grinded arena gear for s1. Idk it feels off putting

what i dont like about it is that i need to buy so many enchants. I need to enchant my blue honor gear now and everytime i upgrade it i need to enchant again…and this every season.

Atleast you don’t farm the gear for 7 months like pvers most of them never get to full bis gear and they have to fully start from 0.

I think it’s OK Atleast beginner and people getting back to the game don’t get roflstomp till they have equal gear and like said above it’s pretty fast to gear up now.

The gear reset is a great change.

It’s hard enough for new players who try to get into PVP. Equalizing the playing ground is the right move

New season, fresh start. Why should the last season matters?

And the bigger the difference between fresh 70 gear and PvP gear, the harder it becomes. There is also the question what “equalizing” means here. PvP gear was for everyone equal and everyone had the chance to get maximum item level for PvP by doing PvP.

I’d also prefer it, if the honor gear was same ilvl as the previous seasons conq gear, so the old gear doesn’t get invalidated instantly, but then again, that would lead to a bigger ilvl gap between fresh and fully geared chars, so I take that little inconvinience over the downside of a bigger gap, after coming back to the game/leveling an alt.

But the thing about enchants is a big downside, I fully agree with that, especially considering how expensive enchants, gems, etc. are this expac.

I think a solid compromise and something that would not be unrealistic is for Blizzard to upgrade old conquest gear and make it scale to the honor gear ilvl, once the new season starts, so as an example for this season, they could have made the season 1 conquest gear scale up to 437 ilvl in pvp, as of today.

While i fully agree with what you said, i think they just wanted to get rid of the tier sets without making the effort of some extra treatment to disable it

Easy gearing system is very bad for WoW, because since time memorial WoW was always game where you work around your character to gain the edge. Not to mention that geting gear pieces actualy induced some dopamine and happiness.

Main problem with easy gearing is meta class infestaton, its so easy to gear alt…and when one class become OP people will swarm to play it, and very easy gear that class, which lead to more infestation of bracket with OP classes and moments when you play arena for 3 hours just to see same class over and over like no one other in the world playing.

EXAMPLE: Anyone complained how rets infested bracket after buff, anyone complained there is so many rets… now ask yourself, will it be so many rets if gearing system isnt obsolete and that easy? If gear system is correct they woud never infest bracket

My opinion about PVP gearing: Lazy guy and guy who work on his character shoud never be equals ! this is how it must me. Offcourse gear shoud never offer you free win versus someone, but if you work on your gear you shoud have edge over lazy people.

Probably some truth to it, I didn’t consider tier. Hmmmm

So Blizzard should rather ruin the game and make it almost impossible to get alts going, instead of just fixing stuff that is clearly broken within a timely manner? Nah, that’s very lazy. We were facing assa pre 10.0.7 and ret post 10.0.7 every single game, due to them not only being op but being broken. WoW will never be perfectly balanced, but it is what it is, some classes will always be a bit better and that’s fine, but as soon as classes become so overtuned that others simply don’t stand a chance, that’s when the solution is to fix them instead of making it harder for people to reroll them.

If a class is 5% better than the rest, people won’t fotm reroll because a 5% upside is useless if not played properly. But in 10.0.7 ret case, it was more like the class being 50% better than any other, so that any skill requirements flew right out the window.

Nothing wrong with that. Its rapidly increasing chances that the class will get nerfed!

I think you might be right here. More new gear = more new enchants. If someone is lazy then buys token. We don’t have legos to craft so at least we buy more enchants.

On one hand yes but on the other they just reroll to the next fotm so it doesn’t change anything.

WARNING: Don’t be an idiot like me when using the token of merit when you get 1600.

There is a PVE and PVP set for the tier, the PVE items do NOT increase in pvp combat!

They have the same names and are sold by the same vendor.

Guess which one muggins the guinea pig bought?

The ones you want will say elite 9/9 the ones you don’t want say hero 2/5.

Stay safe out there

it takes, a few hours to be fully geared, stop complaining about stuff like this
