WoW got woke too much

Yeah it really should. There is just always something I want to respond to in your stuff ^^

One thing to keep in mind is that Chronicle was written from the viewpoint of the Titans. What is written there about the void lords may not be entirely true.

“Chronicle is written from a specific point of view (titans) but it is canon - more stuff did happen behind the scenes though, and you’ll find some explained in Shadowlands.”

You need to understand that in this day and age the only thing allowed to be criticized are straight white men. Feelings over facts and a mature discussion with mutual respect is not allowed anymore.

Off course, you’re not a racist and the people calling you that are unable to form a respectful and reasonable counter argument for what you’re saying in your original post.

And i partially agree with what you say and i have noticed that there are a significant larger amount of female characters in this game since BFA and it might be intended as including females more in the game cause more women play games these days, however i do understand that it feels a bit forced that the majority of the bigger characters now are mostly female and the men are shoved in the background or killed.

Sure, you can say “Now it is our turn, women have been shoved back plenty of times, etc”. However that does not make things better. That is not inclusive, nor equal. It is simply treating injustice with injustice and that is not justice, that is vengeance. Which is a game no one should play if they want to make things better and i always say to myself. If you know better, do better.

Now calling someone racist or sexist because you disagree with their view is just immature and unnecessary. To those calling the OP this need to have a good look at themselves and look up what a racist or sexist really is. Cause OP is neither and if the OP is so wrong in her view, then show her how she is wrong by giving out clear views and facts, which can lead the OP to actually change her view.

Opinions are not facts, they are simply how you see/feel things based on the information you have. Not on the information you’re lacking.

Currently the whole SJW marathon that has been going on has also been messing with my personal views. Nowadays i need to question why are there only white people in this movie, why only men, why only woman or only Asians? Before this i could just enjoy the movie or series for what it is. Now i wonder if that black person is there for their talent or because otherwise people get upset for the movie being to white.
Just because you disagree with someone that doesn’t look exactly the same as you, does not mean that you hate that person.

People need to be a bit more understanding and listen to one and other. Not just wait till the person is done talking, so that you can start talking and say what it is you want to say.

That kind of reminds me of the time I questioned why they made Tyrion in Diablo 3 black.

He was clearly voiced by a caucasian male(well, maaybe asian?) in D2. The stark difference in the voice is a rather big, and imho, and unecessary change. No problem with new characters being black but when they genderbend or racebend a character that was a white male to begin with I get a bit tilted. Happens a lot as of late.

Sir I believe you are lost, this is the WoW forums, not Stormfront.

so what is the lore? what did bolvar do so many years? use a green hammer? he has an army of necromancers, dead dragons, ghosts etc to serve him, he is fully geared, enchanted, perhaps even better geared than arthas

but no, was just bi–slapped by silvanus because she is horde warchief and is best faction for blizard

no, you are just a scared little being who is too afraid to embrace change… evolution is survival, stagnation is death
“dei took er jerbs”

Holy crap, I just now realised that you’re exactly like a political extremist who will push the “horde favoritism” narrative anywhere.

Now I just need to figure out if you’re just a troll or are actually serious.

Such is his fervor, he’s forgotten that we sort of don’t have a Warchief either at the moment.

Well, it can’t be helped when his brain is filled to the limit with horde favoritism ideas. He just doesn’t have capacity to store new information.

She started the war and from what we know the souls of all who died went to the Maw empowering the jailer - which indirectly empowered Sylvanas. Now, if you don’t like where the story is going and you think it is stupid you’re on your own right (and it can be a bit silly sometimes true), but the reason for her being very powerful is right there.

And honestly if you want to go on into idiot conspiracy theories here’s mine: Sylvanas proved herself a very strong independent woman oh yeah but in the end she was just serving a man (the jailer entity seems to be male related).

My idiot conspiracy theory: Blizzard wants to prove women only do great things under the orders of men. BOOM nonsense fiesta.

Because the given ‘reasons’ for her current power level are fanfic tier writing material… at best.

Couple that with the gratuitous amounts of displays of power by her in this expansion.

In the BfA trailer she does does the banshee version of ‘nothing personell kid(s)’ teleport, wipes out a bunch of footmen, and insta-raises them as undead minions. In the throne room during the siege of Lordaeron she spreads her legs and flashes her balls at all the alliance leaders before twirling her moustache, cackling, and pulling the ‘nothing personell kid’ teleport move once again to get away. She’s literally invincible if she combines her banshee teleport with her supernatural reflexes.

What made Arthas such a good villain? Well, he wasn’t god tier, you could hurt him. He got hurt at the Wrathgate because he does not possess the most coveted marysue power of all, the power to insta-teleport out of danger.

Then she also wipes the floor with Saurfang and Bolvar

You know, back in the day Warcraft actually had a rule when it came to ‘containing’ power. Remember back when arcane used to actually corrupt? Remember back when Illidan laughed at Maiev for foolishly assuming he wanted the power of Sargeras’ eye for himself because he literally tells her it would tear him apart if he tried?

Well, Sylvanas can somehow become a demigod without anyone suspecting and contain all that power inside her because reasons.

Nobody on Azeroth can even identify what type of magic she’s using(some unknown tier of death magic?). How convenient for the writers. Now they can give Sylvanas unlimited powers and defy all rules of magic that have been established thus far because… well, it’s a new type of OP magic!

Not that they really needed it, tbh. Main characters have been exempt of rules and consequences when dealing with powerful forces before for the sake of convenience and such.

She has a covenant and soulbind with the Jailer.
It’s a simple explanation. And once we get our covenants and soulbinds, maybe we’ll be powerful enough to do something about her.

To me it makes sense. :man_shrugging:

Whether it’s good writing or not is subjective and I won’t get into that.

That may be valid to say to somebody in real life in certain situations, but it doesn’t hold any weight in this regard because the simple fact is that the WoW lore characters are originally established from the artists perspective, and if they intended on certain characters to be of a certain skin complexion, then no one should change that in hopes of being more “diverse.”

When it comes to random playable characters being whatever skin complexion/race they choose, that is also intended from the beginning, but without the features changing. Now that features can change to a black or Asian person, I am happy also, but I can see why the OP brought it up.

Still, doesn’t devalue any other points the OP has made, as I too believe that Activision-Blizzard’s story direction seems “progressive” as of late and doesn’t make sense in most cases, until they start to pull strings out of nowhere to connect them so that it makes sense to shut us up.

One thing’s for certain whether it’s politically-driven or not, is that the story writing for WoW is absolutely terrible and nowhere near as quality as the original story writing of the first three expansions.
