the story kind of dragged on though… i just wanted to kill people with my sith warrior.
I’m confused about the recent complaints.
Are they criticizing the artistic style of the cinematic?
Or are they criticizing the gameplay content of the expansion?
Or is it both?
Because before yesterday I didn’t see this kind of criticism, so I’m leaning toward people just being grumpy about the cinematic. But reading some of the replies it sounds a bit as if it’s broader criticism about the game in general.
So, which is it?
i think it is partly both… they see the cinematic as the direction of the expansions content.
i havent seen any footage to counter that claim either… only seen the big evil dragon once…
More confused then, because the announcement cinematic is filled with dragons and vibrant colors as well, and if I check the YouTube comments for that, then they seem to praise it quite a bit.
I’ve read and followed the Beta feedback for Dragonflight like everyone else, and I can’t say I’ve seen people complaining about it being “adapted to children”. But now suddenly it is?!
Where was this concern shown before yesterday?!
people complain just for the sake of complain. this forum is like facebook. people come here and complain just to have some people watching the complain and enjoin the complain.

you really shouldnt get so upset about people complaining it is just human nature.
WoW has been going more so in the cartoony disney direction for years but this cinematic took it to the next level. If you compare it to classic vanilla > wrath it is a very different aesthetic, while not a dark fantasy, certainly appears much more balanced. There is nothing attractive to me about this recent cinematic, it only puts me off, and makes me cringe a bit to play the game.
Not saying there is anything wrong with it, but that is my personal feelings. It is boring to play a disney/marvel feeling game. I would prefer a darker direction. Which doesn’t mean just void demons blah blah. You can have a dark adventure with just orcs and dragons similar to how classic did it.

i think they are tryin to chunk the people went to FFXIV. and cater new generations.
Well, i feel you. I used to kill every horde i met during the game, and i will keep doing even if they are 30 lvl below. for me Horde is just a bunch of Scum.
However, it’s ok, over the past 18 years we playied “end of the world” expansions so a little bit of Fresh air its ok. As Devs said this is going to be a chill expansion, more focused on adventure instead to fight the big bad guys. Also this is a Phase 3 of WoW history and people that develop WoW Vanilla, even their creators are gone. So let’s see what will do the new directions.
The reality is that since 2006 i always heard that WOW was dying. It’s 2022 an i’m still enjoying play and the game is more Alive then ever…

a little whimsy will be nice for a while… for those that actually play the game that is …
at least nobody is sad enough to pay blizzard money just to do that …

Your remark made me wonder. Right now, the vid has 20K Likes and 7.3K Dislikes, a 3:1 ratio, which ain’t great. But, as you say, the comments seem full of sunshine and rainbows …
… until you go down - far down.
Or sort by “Latest” instead of “Top” comments. It’s remarkable how all the negative comments with no score when sorted by “Top” seem to have randomly fallen to the bottom.
For myself, I didn’t like the cinematic at all. Not because it was bright, which I like, but because I barely recognised anyone. That is definitely NOT Kalec. What has happened to Khadgar? What is Alexstraza doing with Alfred’s freckles?

Then I’m glad you didn’t make it. There’s enough doom and gloom in the real world, thanks. And even there, people are capable of putting aside their differences - your life must be very cold and sad it you think that’s impossible.
Also, if you’re looking for “realistic” you probably shouldn’t be playing a fantasy game. Maybe time top move on to something else.
Yeah well, If you are a pvper to the core and mainly that, thats how it will feel 
. THe PvE is way ahed of wow I think. While WoW is way ahed of SWTOR in the pvp aspect.
This really. I don’t think its aimed at Children - its just that we seem to be getting further and further from “Warcraft”. Whether that’s good or bad is debatable. Lorewise, we seem to be drifting ever further into the weeds.
