Wow is dead again on MacOS

Literally nothing happened on my MacBook, yesterday it was fine, now it’s not even starting. Not any of the versions. The last time it was broken for a month lol. So nice of you to keep charging money for people that can’t even log in to the game

I’m having the same issue. It’s been working all week and now the latest update has broken it this evening. Keep getting failure to update. Scan and repair is also broken.

Running Mac Sonoma

Fixed for me, nice, was quick

what did you do to fix it?

I just ran the game again, and it worked

Battlenet is piece of s*. I opened battlenet, 10.2 downloaded, I played for a while, closed the game, then some new “download” started. I came back now after few hours, opened battlenet, new update downloading, but ofc it is stuck on initialize and after 2 minutes error that update can’t be downloaded. Super well done lame ducks.s

I normally do not bother using the forums. But this is getting out of hand.

I understand that MAC users are not a high enough % of the community to really invest mode troubleshooting into it, but i’ll leave you with my little tale for your morning coffee and laugh at work.

For the past 2 months, I have to relog every single time I use wow. Ok, I undestand the launcher is crap. I can deal with it and learned to love my little brakes ( go in the launcher, watch it DC, close it, close it, force quit, send report, reopen, credential, yey enjoy my subscription).

As much as this is fun tonight has been on a different level.

I go through my normal process above. Fun, I know. then I get a cheeky update. Imagine how fun it is to get an update and get BLZBNTAGT0000138F over and over.

So I go on your forums.

Step 1.
You didn’t make any changes to your machine, no worries it actually your Firewall. Don’t be stupid and follow our steps.

Done, no results.

Step 2.

Close or reinstall Battlenet. Done no result.

Step 3.

Update OS. Done no result

Step 4.

Repair the game. This one was particularly fun. Not only did I get error after error but it also didn’t work.

Step 5.

Unistal the game. Well this is the epiphany of the evening. I was stupid enough to do it. Now… can you guess what happens? I have 96 GB to instal and I get BLZBNTAGT0000138F at every 1%

Now, the fact that I am still doing this is a testament that I am a lousy consumer and I’ll probably stick with this game despite your many many many faults both social and technical. I don’t credit that to you, I do credit it to having too many connections in game to just leave. But it’s the little things, things like wasting 4 hours of my life, that will push me at some point to just realize I am at an age where maybe playing WoW is not the best use of my time going further.

Really appreciate the overwhelming support you have shown so far to this issue and looking forward to your continued technical support.

WoW was stuck on ‘initialising’ when trying to update for me today. I tried a couple of things:

  1. Deleting the Agent folder in HD>Users>Shared>Battle.net
  2. In System Settings>Privacy & Security>App Management : Add Battle.net and World of Warcraft to this list (+)

Well, something worked because the game then patched without any problems.

M1 Mac mini / Sonoma 14.1

I do not know if someone from blizz is going through the posts here but it seems that once I click on install or update (both retail and classic) it gets stuck on initialize step and whole battle net app stops responding. It even says that I am not logged in/connected to internet which is bs because I am.
On the other hand I had no issues updating hearthstone.
I am on M1 mac Sonoma.

It seems nobody at Blizz does ever monitor anything in the forums. The issue with the login was terrible for weeks, at least now seems to be working. My newest problem is that the world latency is crap (600ms), while the home latency is good (23ms). Any test with any tool says that my connection is great (using fiber with 600Mb), but the world latency in Wow is terrible.

Thats correct. They have confirmed that in the past. Aside from the Community Managers, nobody in Blizzard monitors these forums. Not GM’s, not Devs, nobody.

Thats why they keep telling people to send in a proper bug report, and nto assume that bugs reported on the forums will ever be actioned.
