WoW Needs New GameTime System

Hi
I am one of the Old players of WoW, So i expriences both times , the vanilla , TBC and … Legion , BFA
When I was young , I could play about 10 hours every day!
But now I have 3 children, I have to work, I have to spend time for my children and my wife.
So! I can only Play about 2 hours every day.
Also! In new WoW system, We can see people named “farmers” , They may play the game about 20 hours every day!

I pay game time for one month and play about 60 hours , A hardcore player pay the same , and plays about 300 hours , And a farmer pay the same , and Play about 600 hours. He also gain money from playing!

Anyway, I think This way isn’t fair!!! Is it?

So!!!

I have suggestion! We can have a mix for Game time. For example , you pay 10 euro and buy a gametime card , so , you will not have 30 days! You will have about for example 200 hours to play wow , and the limit is for example , 4 months to use your game time!

I think it is much more fair! It also cause people dont mind about playing when they are busy, cause they dont waste their gametime…

SO!!!

I suggest you Blizzard , change your system
Thank you

Why do you care how much other people play? You all pay for the same time, and everyone decides how much of that time he ll invest in the game.
What you suggest is one of the worst form of commie bs. Lower everything to the lowest denominator, cause reasons.

Making people log out when something doesn’t work out to save time .

Mythic + wipe ? Log out

Bad raid pug ? Log out

Bad bg ? Log out

People will not have as much patience since there money is burning away

Thanks for your response, I think It can be solved , Let talk about the Base of my suggestion.

For what you say , there can be solutions , for example the report system can be used against such players .
What you say can also happens now
Many rage quit and play other hero, or stop playing

Can it ? Riot games recently explained how a automatic report system isn’t a good option and you would need a human controlled one. Also you can’t forced peoole to play

Yes. But For other reasons and not this much

Some people are toxic without any reason indeed. OP, I generally like your suggestion. I have a feeling that my game time will be wasted if I don’t log in every day, doesn’t matter if I feel like playing or not.

A friend of mine bought 6-month subscription but due to unforeseen circumstances couldn’t play and he said he really regrets that the money for these 6 months were wasted.

I would like an option where game time can be paused without expiring.

The 40 hour job, a wife and even children are a commitment you wanted to have in your life. I know people who made sacrifices so they have more spare time in their life, like working part time, choosing not to have children and so on.

Just be happy that you actually can make some time for such a high-investment game at all. I don’t think that Blizzard will change the time system anytime soon.

No thanks. For me the monthly fee for playing those 30 days are cheaper than 1 homemade dinner for my family. If this was changed to what you suggest, I have a feeling WoW would become significantly more expensive for me to play.

It would be nice to be able to freeze sub time, with restrictions of course. Not for daily use but for periods where you’re just too busy to make use of the game time. Either that or being able to buy it in smaller incremements, like 10 days.

Then don’t pay.

There were even more farmers in vanilla, where gold was far more scarce than it is now.

Mind you, I wouldn’t mind changing the system so that the price of game time is a bit more dynamic, as long as I don’t have to pay more. That will never happen, 'cos that’d be a big cut on Blizzard’s income (even if game time is no longer their primary income from WoW, as far as I remember). You see, they aren’t going to do it for the kindness of their hearts. If they don’t win money on it, it will not happen. And if you make it cheaper for some to play, you’ll have to make it more expensive for others. And if you penalize those who play most, you’ll loose.

It’s like with old giftcards way of earning money, no sane subscription model will change itself to an active buy model. You see the way giftcards make money is because so many people forget to use it and a lot of people forget to cancel their subscription to stuff such Netflix and yes, WoW. 10-15 bucks a month… Well in the slew of all your finances it barely stands out.
Would I actually want it… No… It’s inconvinient and I remember having to run down to the gas tank to get prepaid minutes for my phone, I don’t want to return to that age. I don’t have nearly as much time as I used to, but I usually follow the popular dollar/per hour model (I don’t remember who invented the idea). So if I can get 10-15 hours of fun play time out of my sub each month… I’m fine. So far I’ve been able to do that and I’ll unsub once I can’t do that anymore.

It is fair.
You pay a sub for entrance into the game; access to its systems and features. Nothing more.
How you use it is up to you.

In fact
Blizzard has servers that consume electrical energy , Internet traffic and …
I think the method that I have invented , Is also good for environment , while it is also fair , because Blizzard will not need to pay for server energy and traffic for who that really dont play the game , and are farming.
Many people will login less if they feel that will cause them to pay more, and it helps both environment and server traffic as I said

Blizz doesnt want ppl to log in less though

That’s a BAD thing for the game industry. :man_shrugging:

  1. Environmental problems are really not that. There are people problems. We are basically ruining the planet FOR OURSELVES (and yes unfortunately taking many animal species along with us). If we die out the planet will be fine in a couple million years.

  2. Blizzard will gladly have bigger server traffic. It means their game is being played and they are making money.

You again…
Even if you pay monthly for 13 euro that’s 0,43 euros per day… Divide that by 2 hours it’s 0,215 euros per hour played…
So, if this is expensive to you (it might be and I am not judging that) then don’t play, use that 0,43 euro per day to… IDK… But an extra 0,5cl bottle of water…

Get real bro…

It’s like free to play, you pay more in the long term.

It’s phycological.pay £10 and get a months access.,if you only play half that time you feel £5 has been wasted.

Pay as you go systems always cost much more. Relatively speaking a WoW sub gives you much more entertainment that other forms of entertainment.

I prefer the current system of a fixed price no matter how much or how little I play. It is easy to budget and I don’t have to worry that I don’t “efficiently” use the time in the game.

Until ten-ish years ago, I paid for my internet connection by the minute, which also included the first few years of WoW. The meter/counter ticking added stress and was detrimental to the enjoyment of playing. Waiting for people, wiping unnecessarily, etc. all felt like other people and their issues wasted my money in addition to my time.

I much prefer flat rates for everything, whether it’s internet, Netflix, or WoW.
