If I was to rank every console I’ve owned (and Ive owned pretty much every one except the hideously over priced 3DO and Neo-Geo) the Dreamcast would be in the top 3.

It’s just a shame it suffered the wrath of developers because of the SEGA Saturn and SEGA missing the boat when it was given the opportunity to co develop and produce a console with SONY who went on to make their own.

That console ofc being, The PlayStation.

They were both approached, Nintendo first then SEGA. As Nintendo and SEGA were the two biggest forces in the 2nd generation console war they saw SONY as not being important enough. The other major Japanese developer SNK while it had it’s own console the Neo-Geo, it treated that console as a home arcade as SNK were more concerned with overtaking CAPCOM and it’s main IP’s Street Fighter and Final Fight, along with more obscure side scrollers like Knights of the Round or Forgotten Worlds in the arcades by flooding arcades with not too subtle rip off’s of said IP’s before finding their market with King of Fighters.

Unfortunately as Nintendo were a wider known company outside of Japan and SEGA’s outside of Japan bases all had to answer to an idiot of a president based in Japan they were always second best, despite many of the games actually being better on the SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis as ports or SEGA’s own inhouse games. Streets of Rage 2 anybody?

So ultimately they both turned down the opportunities, and while Nintendo flourished with the Wii and the Switch, SEGA is now a shell of it’s former self, spitting out Sonic remakes…

I would buy a PS1 again if I could find a copy of the brilliant port of Doom for it. The Doom port on the PS1 had the best music in a doom game until the reboots.

The best console ever is xbox series X, and in hindsight people will see it. Backwards-comatibility for physical+digital, really good optimization for multimedia, gamepass deal is really good, the console is silent and has good cooling, and it broke the exclusives-meta to some degree

I didn’t say otherwise, but it didn’t sell badly due to value. The value is great, the marketing is the issue and the bad reputation from xbox one. Also the console market is rough. Once people are invested on a platform, they won’t change easily and lose their games/achievements

It will not be identical to the PC client. For one, it will have very few graphic options that the player will be able to modify, and again most likely they will be tied to accessibility. Secondly, likely they will reduce stuff that add CPU strain, for example they may implement a hard cap on how many other players one can see around and even objects in general. Maybe they will also remove the Combat Log from the console version, who knows.

It may play OK, but it’ll look garbage on a 60" OLED TV. The CPUs on latest gen consoles are bad, they’d have to reduce quality so much in capital cities, and the older expansions will be very visibly old on a big TV which console-only gamers will not be used to at all.

You can create macros to cast the totem or ring on you. If you don’t want, there is the possibility to put the ring on your camera position.

Another Phil lie lol… Got both systems but Xbox was my main… PS for exclusives, They simply gave people no reason to buy an Xbox… See the Nintendo Switch 2 breaking records…

When people weren’t smart enough to push back the ABK buyout… Soon as they started I stopped buying games on Xbox as I knew where it would lead.

It seems that the context is reaction.
You can simply place a totem or RoP at a specific position way waster with mouse and keyboard than you can do with a controller. Placing something at yourself is not solving anything.

Final Fantasy 14 has been doing this for ages on ps4. Its completely doable and theres no reason why they shouldn’t do it sooner or later. believe or not, there are people who prefer playing on a controller.

Healing is indeed a bit trickier, youre not wrong at all. I have yet to try it myself so I can’t speak for it unfortunately. other than there are two buttons assigned to toggle up /down on your party frame in 5 man scenarios. In raid your point becomes more valid, 5 man is kinda doable from what i heard from FF14 players
