Wow pay 2 win and Token gold

YOu cant read or what ?

I played wow before wod,

Gold had 0 value and people could buy it from :

So what is your point ?

If anything you are noob in all of this.

That gave me a shameless giggle. Dry humour is something else.

I see, you don’t seem to understand what value is.

value changes constantly and you can not even argue anything.

I disagree.

I consider p2w when a paying player has a advantage that a non paying player cannot reach

Again different opinions

At the end of the day, let’s look at events in wow

  • there’s countless stories about females getting carried in guilds due to several activities.
  • we had a girl who sold her virginity for a spectral tiger
  • several relationships with one vastly more skilled then the other and carries the other through content.
  • females have even e-dated men for arena boosting.
    And more

People having been utilising real life assets for in-game gains since vanilla. Just because it’s gold now and universally reachable by every player doesn’t make it any less so

Would you be able to tell the difference if i was?

What difference in what ?

People make value ,wow token prices changes based on people and people do sell/buy things for gold on different things.

m+ 15 from Y guys =100K
m+ 15 from X guys =90k

Values changes constantly for anything and has many differences.

No idea what is your point.
If you have any beyond being mad how others spend their time/money/gold.

Yet the value of gold was a constant 0 since vanilla till the introduction of WoW token right?

Well then. Here’s the advantage for you.

Normal player, takes a month or two by himself to get the gear he wants.

You pay for a carry, a group of people will carry you and provide you with that advantage in a short time with no effort coming from you. you also get better Rio score, a raid curve, higher pvp rank or whatever else to start 10 steps ahead of a new player who’s on his own.

Before telling me, but this is all happening in the game and less skilled people are being carried for free all the time, IT’S IRRELEVANT. Pay to win has a very easy to understand definition and wow fits that definition to the letter.

So instead of saying there’s no mud in the water because there’s mud in the vase right next to it, try to understand that it’s pointless to argue. Just because there’s another muddy thing right next to the water, doesn’t make the water any less muddy in the process.

It’s pay to win and at this point, i don’t even know how else i need to explain this very easy to understand thing.

Here’s another situation

New player goes to boosting buddies and gets boosted for free to get all his gear.

Other new player pays for a boost and gets all his gear at a price.

Did either person lose?
Did they both pay?

Your proclaims fall short when the paying person is techniqully losing by still paying for a service that multiple communities offer you free of charge.

Most people still pay for this stuff even with this stuff active. Because it’s far easier to keep the fact your boosted anonymous by not being found in the free boosting communities discords.

Stop treating this as factual. Because it isnt mmorpgs the “winning feature” is subjective

Buying mounts for RL cash would be considered p2w by collectors in-game. Because effectively people competing in mount collections have a lead via RL cash

Here’s what you’re saying.

My friend goes to the doctor. Since he’s a friend of the doctor, he gets treated free of charge.

Another friend goes to the doctor for the same reason, but this one has to pay 200$. Conclusion is that doctors work for free.

2 completely different situations. Friends helping other friends out is a carry. But not a business. It’s just friends helping each other out. Pay to win part of this game is a business and it’s done with real money involved.

Just because something is available in the game for the grasp, doesn’t make paying to get it any less of a pay to win.

Boosting buddies isn’t based on friendship and everyone’s welcome to join it.

You will be boosted as a “friend” or “new comer” equally.

Again p2w is opinionated and subjective

Some players could argue this games been p2w since mounts and pets were buyable.

Mmorpgs the win is subjective. People play for different reasons

I don’t care about loot. I just care about enjoying some m+ and seeing what I can achieve. So me I never feel like I’m “losing” to players with better gear them me.

I give up. At this point, I gave you a very clear answer.

If it swims like a duck, looks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, it’s because it is a duck. You can argue it’s a goose as much as you want. Doesn’t change reality of things.

I’m not arguing a ducks a goose lmfao

I’ve given you the very definition of the word pay to win in my eyes

The ability a player can obtain something with RL currency that a non paying player cant obtain in the game.

Boosting for gold has always existed. Just because the token made the market more accessible doesn’t change that.

Given the fact there’s like 4 people in the whole thread that agrees with you. I’d argue that simply you aren’t a majority with this thought process

So if anyone’s missing something it’s you.

And no you didn’t. You started going on about “friends” getting boosted while I’m not.

I’m saying there’s communities that offer what the boosting communities offer for free. You just putting a narrative on that because that does actually equalise the field.

It’s normal most mmorpgs have this model and it helps alot of people play the game.

Here’s a question, let’s say that in Shadowlands they add the option to buy Conquest points from the in-game shop, like 100 cp for 3$, if you buy more you get a discount, exactly like how mobile f2p games sell premium currencies.
Is that pay to win?

What if they bring back tier sets and and day 1 of the patch you can buy a full mythic tier set for your class for 99.99$. Is that pay to win?

That’s a suicide for the game which lives on the sweat of tryhards
Boosting actually glorifies them cause it gives them meaningful way to receive gold as a recognition for their skill to carry x person

these are both very different circumstances and change the Way we recieve loot massively. and remove RNG From the equation entirely.

The reason i dont see boosting as a P2W feature is generally because:

you can buy +15 boosts to obtain the highest Rewards from your M+ Chest.
Or you can just Queue a +15 Weekly and get it done for that same M+ Chest.

you can buy your way through a Mythic raid. Or you simply could join a guild and do a Mythic raid.

I dont see the difference between

  • a chick sending his Guild master a Nude to get a free pass into a raid
  • Person sending a Player gold to get a free pass into the raid.

When theres always been a Formula to get Boosted via Real life Assets or Features, the table Just doesnt turn enough in my eyes.

as above, Boosting glorifies those capable of doing this content. even with men down for Useless Bodies. Selling stuff directly doesnt. It ahs a different feel assossiated with it. as you change the formula to get loot.

Heck i managed to get a monk to 470 ilevel in One Reset. by spamming Keys, sure i had to play

but a 430 monk in a +12 Key?.. is that not considered being boosted?.. i paid nothing i just listed a key xD

Just find a raid leader who would like your nudes than :smirk:
You have been too hard on chicks, it feels personal

Well not really :stuck_out_tongue: its Men that are offering the boost equally in trade for it… if anything i’d say It sbeing hard on guys not chicks… Saying there are Male Raid leaders who are Weak enough to walked over by women who do this stuf :stuck_out_tongue:

its just u meet far less Female Guild masters who want a Pic of a guys Junk for a Raid pass. generally Women Nope out of those situations quickly lol.

and im Male RL :stuck_out_tongue: Females dont get dupped into those situations Near as much Lmfao.

I know they’re different, i just ask if they are P2W or not, cause according to your definition they should be fine.
