WoW pre-patches are BETTER than the actual expansions

and Vashjir are two types of zones that are never going to ever really work. Players do not want underwater creeping movements nor claustrophobic environments. If they never made those dumb rare changes and fixed the Researchers timers very early on and just made the caves that much higher- even better Deepholm style, it could have been a wee bit better but would not have been evergreen. Players just don’t want closed environments.

It’s much more a problem tied to rewards being lackluster in this zone. Open world players were full bis gear in 2 weeks, renown was calculated to take 28 days max to complete (if you don’t slack) and there was no long term goal to achieve in this zone. There was a 400 coin mount, but it’s doable in one week and an half. Result, you have a zone alive for 1-2 months then no one goes there anymore and if feels dead.

Deepholm was a successful cave.
I think it’s because, unlike Zaralek, it still had a pretty high “ceiling”, so it didn’t feel claustrophobic like you said.

How does Zaralek not have a high ceiling? Is it because people are trying to dragonrace there or something?
